We all miss the old format...this would have helped tonight. Watch the full video. Gives me chills at the end.

Great regular season for your team, hopefully the league can tweak and improve the tournament after this year.

Nothing but the best for Valpo in the postseason.

I view and have posted here before so that's inaccurate, just curious as to what the general perceptions would be; some are grounded and sensible, most are all emotion.

Don't want to come across as an absolute ass, but if your team couldn't win a neutral site league tournament game to Green Bay, were they really going to be successful in the NCAA Tournament?? I don't know many people who like the new format, so don't act as if only Valpo was affected.

Quote from: a3uge on March 09, 2014, 12:16:57 PMAlso I agree with yours and wh's sentiments on Wardle. Not a good person, not a good coach. GB fans had the excuse machine going all season and never wondered why they can't play through adversity.
Yeah, I was as disappointed / embarrassed as anyone by the events and revelations of last summer.

But short of Detroit vs. Oakland, I don't think I could pick two teams I'd less like to see in the title game.  It would have been nicer for GB to carry our banner.  I mean, "wright state" versus "the university of wisconsin at milwaukee"?!!???   YECCH.

I know HC is with me on this at least.

Ew. Wardle is a loser and a terrible representation of the HL.

Remember to go vote for Jerran Young to participate in the dunk contest at the Final Four by searching State Farm College Slam on Facebook!! And beat both of those WI teams!!

Maybe a bit of both. ;)  Shouldn't be much of a contest at any rate.

Hey all, I don't intend to take away from this game thread, but if you would take a second to help get the league some exposure before heading out to the ARC for the first round that'd be awesome. Wright State senior Jerran Young has advanced to the semifinal round of voting in the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Competition. This is a platform for under-the-radar players from non power conferences to get the opportunity to compete with the big boys. The winner of the voting will compete in the slam dunk contest at the Final Four. We have gotten Jerran to the semifinals but now need more help.  You can vote once a day and your help to get the guy some recognition and the opportunity to represent the HL would be awesome. Just vote on Facebook by searching State Farm College Slam App, click vote for your favorites and you will see Jerran's name there.

The officiating was terrible both ways tonight, having been there and pretty close to most of the calls.

I hate losing, but I hate losing to crappy schools like Wright State more.

Ouch.

I love you guys! I'm fond of neither our coach nor our schedule!! Love the program and my school though!

I will go out on a limb and say we blow the out of their own gym, yes my dislike for WSU may have played a part in this prediction.

Why the dislike for WSU? I thought we were all friends?!  ;D

Looking forward to tonight!! A little nervous but excited. I think Jerran Young's ability to penetrate and help defend down low with his current shoulder pains will dictate how this game goes unless WSU guards are shooting lights out from the perimeter.

7 fouls to none??  :-X

Keep it up guys, get the road W! We've only seen them once since they joined the Legue and I already can't stand Kampe or Oakland.

Hey guys. I asked this question on Raider Nation and no one seems to have a definitive answer. For lack of a better thread to add it to, I'll ask it here. After Kevin ware's injury and heading into the second half of Louisville/Duke at Lucas oil Stadium, I noticed the Horizon League logo on the Louisville locker room sign. Later on I also realized it was being sported in the top left corner of the court where the hosting team usually has its logo. Any of you have the scoop on how we got that there for the elite eight?

Santa Clara's 1-3-1 d gave us fits and their 3 point shooting from 21 (foster)  and a few others screwed us. Time for a long summer with no round ball. Here's to a stronger HL next season.

Understood. The attendance rose for the second round and I'm hoping for the same Wednesday.  Being 9 on a Wednesday though we will see. I was discussing what we're paying for sure for the tourney, and I'm sure a figure will be thrown around later.

Hope my posts are appropriate anyway.  Just wanted to share some stuff for this thread.

Sadly no with regards to the crowds. With the first four still going on at UD Arena for our first round, we had in the 2500 range. Worst all season. Last night we had about 3700. Closer to average. But for our second round we allegedly didnt have to pay because Richmond had a scheduling conflict at their home arena, which sparked my curiosity. And at the game last night, from what they were saying, it seemed certain we would be traveling Wednesday so who knows. I trust Bob Grant and BD are making the right decisions. Very proud of our young team!!

I'm starting to wonder what we will owe the CBI for all this hosting, but it's great to get our young players this extra experience, and hopefully the investment pays off next year. Different OOC competition, tournament environment, extra court time will be great for the players and the program.

WSU v Butler News Coverage

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rfWPIlhkDKI

This is the type of video that will have me floored all the way up to Valpo today. News cutting in for an interview the final seconds of the 2007 Championship and pandemonium at the Nutt House just as the news clip ends. Many fans will enjoy this feeling tonight as one team and its fans will be heartbroken. Good luck, here's to an injury-free, well played, and well officiated game!!

Valpo Basketball / Re: HL Tourney
March 10, 2013, 01:06:26 PM
The attendance was much higher than the 3285 or whatever it said. More than that were there midway through the Wright State game as Valpo and a few Green Bay fans arrived.

Another fine exhibit played out tonight as to why daddy's boy shouldn't represent the HL POY
