We may be looking at De Andre Haynes so here is Shaka's coaching tree:

3.) Darrin Horn: Northern Kentucky.
4.) Mike Jones: UNC Greensboro, Redford.
5.) Mike Morrell: UNC Asheville.
6.) Mike Pegues: Louisville.
7.) Dwight Perry: Wofford.
8.) Mike Rhodes: Penn State, VCU, Rice.
9.) KT Turner: UT Arlington.
10.) Will Wade: McNeese, LSU, VCU, Chattanooga.

If a new coach comes in and implements what Shaka Smart has done at Marquette, Valpo is likely to have great results. His style is different as it emphasizes connectedness within the team and many public motivational goals, as well as sharp offensive cuts, deflections, and player development. Having seen him firsthand at Marquette, I can see why this did not work at a huge resource-laden program like Texas, but works well at somewhat smaller schools like VCU and Marquette. Other than knowing that Haynes is responsible for player development at Marquette, my hope would be that he (or any coach) implements much of what Smart has done with Marquette.

Smart's Marquette team that won the Big East regular season and conference tournament titles (and beat UConn twice) had two top 100 recruits (both in the 90s).
