The Horizon League officials are Big 10 officials. All three officials from last night will work mostly Big 10 games the rest of the way.

They can have them and Hightower won't put up with some of what they did!

humbleopinion you are not alone in thinking these comments were strange to say the least.

I also had problems with Coach Drew's comments that there are "16 conference games that all mean the same".  Only 8 of those are at home!

The post game responses by the coaching staff seemed to off to me.   

For anyone curious, the UNM Lobos "paid" stream is AUDIO ONLY.  Stick with WAKE I guess

I found a link at http://www.golobos.com/sports/m-baskbl/nm-m-baskbl-body.html  there is a box on the lower left corner saying "get online its gametime..." i was able to sign in with the cbs account i made (and paid) for the last game and it seems to be "loading" this now appears to only be audio coverage...

Please report if this works. 

Comcast (Chesterton anyway) does not offer the channel at all. I've searched twice today and was gonna call just to see what package it would actually be, but its not there. 

For certain there is no streaming link now (as of 6pm Central) through golobos.com.  Not even a paid one.

I just noticed that this morning and its for sure a change since Wednesday.  I have a feeling that their students are gone who run the cameras or something.  The game is listed to be on local tv so perhaps we'll find something closer to game time.  Its not looking good, though

Audio sync was awful last night.  Its a pretty poor organization that does not resolve simple things like that (have HD now is not an excuse).

If it were a paid service I would totally agree.  But since there aren't even ads on the thing I don't think its fair to call them out for organization.  Its not something that you would anticipate.

Is this http://www.golobos.com/allaccess//?&schoolcode=nm& ? Or did you see something else?  Looks like it's probably $10 for a month's access. Without much TV coverage, it would seem.  "My50/Root Sports RM"  I guess that's regional cable?

It has changed since I last looked at it.  I also didn't really look deep in the CBS thing as it looked like it was free if you had an account.  I was wrong.  This is the same set up as St Louis had and yes its $10 a month.  I purchased the St Louis one and cancelled right after the game as no other streams worked.  It wasn't really worth it, in my opinion.  Though it seems like it will vary school to school (quality).  Perhaps we'll be able to find a working link, but I am not optimistic at this point.  i'll update the thread as it gets closer.  Usually Apostle finds good links, but St Louis game nothing worked

I caught the second half online and was also getting frustrated with the delay on the audio feed.  Glad to know it wasn't just an issue with my computer, hopefully it will be fixed for the next broadcast.  I noticed that they did have it synced up correctly in the highlight video so I'm assuming that they caught their error.

That issue is because they are now using HD cameras (which delay feed a bit to the place its mixed with audio).  Also, the actual processing of the video to flash adds a delay.  Most programs do offer an "audio delay" feature that will better sync things up.  Seeing that HLN uses UStream, I don't remember that feature on its streaming software or not.  I use a program called VMix that allows you to set audio delays in milliseconds and it shows you the delay time the processing it taking.  It takes some trial and error to get right.  Fred mentioned that the IPFW game was the first with the new cameras...so I bet its something they'll be playing with for a while to get right.

The quality and volume of the sound depends on the location of your seat.  There have been games where we have people complaining that they can't hear from one section and people complaining that it is too loud from another.  When we installed the new video scoreboard last year we spent $15,000 on new sound components.  We were told by the sound contractor that this would correct many of our problems.  It clearly has not. I believe that the problem lies with the number and positioning of the speakers.  This is really the only part of the system not yet addressed.  We are going to have this looked at but we will not be able to address it before the end of the season.  In the mean time we are keeping a closer eye on the level of the volume.

One thing I just kinda noticed was that one of the backboards that raise up, it completely covers 2 of the speakers over Section C.  Another thing I would change are the speakers under the main score board.  All that does is create feedback issues if you want a mic on the floor...and makes the sound bounce without doing any good for audience in the way it travels.  Also, system doesn't seem to handle low end well.  Perhaps adding some subs.

I sat in section C for the first half of the game and noticed exactly the same thing... two speakers that were in a position directly behind a raised backboard.  If the backboard was not glass you would not even have been able to see the speakers.  This has to be what ml was talking about when he talked about adding/re-positioning speakers in his recent post.  After halftime I sat with my friends from the IPFW athletics dept. behind the IPFW bench and could hear much better.

I'll be honest.  My family has been in Section C since the Lutheran Miracle... all the time not able to hear PA at all (sounds like a Peanuts adult "Wa Wah Wah Wah Wa Wah Family Express")... and not until the Bethune game did I notice there were speakers above us and saw the backboard.  I then walked around the upper bowl and could hear fine, even in Section CC..but it would be better without that backboard bouncing its sound up to the ceiling.

So an easy temp fix would be to try the audio in Section C with the hoop down and then up... if that is a cause then you can do solutions.  I've seen hoops that raise that can go off to a side and then up or even easier lower/move the speakers.  If it doesn't, then the issue goes deeper.

If it were me, I wouldn't hire a "sound engineer"...  I'd call up Liberty Bible or Valpo Naz or another large area church with good sound.  Offer a nice donation and they'll come out and help...then be around later too!

There has been some sort of nasty virus going around campus the last few weeks, and I think about half the team has had it at one point. I have had it myself, and I can't believe Kevin, Ryan, and others have played in that condition.

Apparently Rowdy has had mono for at least a couple weeks now.  Found out last Tuesday. 

It would appear that none of the links we have are working.  I shelled out the $10 and now wish I hadn't.  Audio quality is awful, but I least I can see the game.

Totally agree.  We looked horrible this past week.  Lucky to come away with a win.

Why not Creighton?  They will likely be the best road team in Bracketbuster and would seem to be a good matchup.  That would be the marquee BB game and could really bolster Valpo's at-large resume.
