Valpo Basketball / The Victory Bell
February 06, 2020, 07:29:47 PM
Does anyone know how/where/who to contact regarding the Victory Bell they've been passing out to the contestants at the basketball games? (Even to purchase?) Fiancee is an alum, and she really wants one. Would like to surprise her with one as part of her wedding gift. We've been trying to track one down at the last couple of basketball games, but had no luck. Thanks in advance!!

Valpo Basketball / Is Lottich the man?
January 24, 2018, 10:12:00 PM
Didnt do anything last year while peters was here. Suspensions last year. JB fiasco this year. The team is getting worse....undisciplined, no passing on offense, sloppy, hardly ever a play out of a timeout. The team is very hard to watch. We dont play smart at all. Is Lottich the guy to lead Valpo??

March 15, 2017, 01:26:21 PM
Now that the season has come to a disappointing end, what are your thoughts on the coaching? Impressed? About what you thought? Disappointed? Or too early to give an opinion with all thats happened this year??

Valpo Basketball / Things to do this weekend
March 06, 2015, 08:39:56 AM
Thought we could get this ball rolling. Some things that come to mind to do this weekend:

Craft beer: Ironwood (closest to campus), Four Fathers, Figure 8 all in valpo. Hunters in Chesterton or 18th street in Gary who is #1 new brewery in Indiana

Wineries: Anderson in valpo, Butler in Chesterton, Shady Creek in Michigan city or the wine trails across Michigan state line

Food: suzies cafe, Jimmys cafe, or Viking chili bowl for breakfast. Tonys has great pizza but is cash only. Shoes pizzeria for wings. Surefire on calumet for bbq. Yats for Cajun and or Creole. Burgerhaus for burgers. Stacks for all around good food. Dish, Parea, Tommys, Sage, or the Valley for a little more fine dining. La cabana for mexican food. Uptown cafe for coffee.

Things to do: the shops downtown, taltree arboretum, the dunes, memorial opera house's version of les miserable, coffee creek, shopping in merrillville, Michael Jackson's house in Gary or the John dillenger museum in crown point, Albanese candy factory, Chicagoland popcorn (over 200 flavors), Blue chip casino or the other casinos a little further away in Lake County, day trips to chicago

I'm sure I'm missing a lot but this is what quickly comes to mind. Enjoy the area!
