Valpo Basketball / Team Uniforms
March 13, 2017, 12:00:47 AM
You'll have to forgive me for asking such a trivial question,  but I legimately want an answer to this. Why did the uniforms this year have the last names on the back of the jerseys removed? I personally like the last names on the back. It seems more professional....Well, maybe not the best adjective in an amateur sport, but you know what I mean. High school teams don't have last names on the back, so having them puts a more classy touch I think. I like the design of the new home uniforms, but the road uniforms look like practice jerseys to me.

I know I'm jumping the gun by starting this thread, and I'm sure there will be a different, more official one than mine, but I still wanted to start talking about this now. What do you guys think about our chances at Murray State? Our performance against Nebraska and St. Louis was plagued by poor shooting. Against New Mexico, we had improvement, but still we lacked firepower as Rowdy was really the only one who brought his offensive game that night. Assuming we roll over Purdue-Cal (as if there is a scenario where it won't happen), how do we look going into the game?

Been a while since I've done one, so anything I said that you think maybe isn't quite right is subject to criticism! Go valpo.

To be honest folks, at this point in the season there aren't too many things to say that haven't been said before. But still, I present to you a little piece about Thursday's game.

Valpo Basketball / The burning question
December 29, 2011, 11:57:36 PM
A serious question for you guys. What do you honestly think about Valpo's chances at winning the Horizon this year? It seems like our season has already been roller coaster and it is only half way through so far.

valpo basketball has always relied on international players, and some of those players have been crucial to the program. of course, we all know that even our current team has quite a few international guys on it. there's broekhoff, witt, van wijk, milosevic, and jakolis (i think he is?). i might have missed one though. anyway, what do you guys think about the international side of valpo basketball? are there any past international players that really stand out to you that you remember as being fun to watch, or were valuable to the program? one that comes to mind as i write is sam haanpa (spelling?). the reason i remember him is how he used to stroke that three pointer with ease.

Valpo Basketball / Next year's team makeup
May 20, 2011, 10:42:55 PM
What do you guys think next years' team is going to look like? obviously it will all be purely speculation at this point. but consider things like scoring. is there going to be a definite scoring leader, or good overall balance? possibly look for someone like broekhoff to step in to more of a scoring role? do you think we may see some previous regulars see a smaller role on the team? maybe it is too early to be asking these questions because there is little certainty right now. but i can't help but wonder.

Valpo Basketball / Scheduling
April 11, 2011, 07:21:03 PM
Does anybody know if Homer is thinking about scheduling a game against one of the top teams in the nation again this next year? i don't see the benefit in going to cameron indoor or the dean dome to go get crushed. sure, i guess you could say it's a nice experience for the players, but at the cost of a 30 point blowout. i noticed in the discussion about butler that we got to the topic about playing and possibly beating middle of pack or lower tier teams from the power six conferences. is it possible that we may get games like that? like IU since they have been down, or Iowa, wake forest, iowa state, minnesota, ole miss, arizona state, NC state, etc. just throwing names out there. i mean, maybe from those schools' perspective, there is not much to gain from playing us because beating us doesn't mean much to them, and losing to us would make them look bad.
