Playing on your home court doesn't mean you won't lose to an inferior team.

Green Bay did to uwm in 2014. Hell butler did back in the day to Cleveland st

Oakland did basically play a home game yesterday and still lost

The only way you are going to protect your top seeds is by either eliminating the conference tourney all together which will never happen or by limiting it to the top six or top four making it and not allowing everyone in.

Valpo almost lost at home to Green Bay in 2015 and should have if not for an epic second half collapse by the Phoenix

Valpo without peters would have gotten embarrassed in their first round game too don't kid yourself

Oakland was the only team that had a chance at a respectable showing

Cbssports has gb a 15 against Kentucky that would be a bloodbath

Surprised usatoday made a prediction as usually for bracketology they are lazy and just put the highest remaining seed as the representative

I like Nku too but if they face gb I think you gotta go with their experience

You shouldn't need a practice in that arena to beat a team as pathetic as uwm peters or no peters

7-15 fts is why they lost

Quit making excuses

The women's program's future looks brighter right now.

Our program is going to be in a free fall without Bryce and Matt Lottich is going to drive it into the ground! Mr no emotion has already destroyed this program after one year! He was left a gift by Bryce and he threw it away!

Huh?  Oh, yes.  That's right.  He blatantly forced Skara to xfer to Wake Forest as soon as he took the job.  Then, in cahoots with SLU, he lobbied the NCAA to not grant Keith that extra year of eligibility.  on top of that, he got his manager to entice Jubril into turning in his work instead of his own.  And to put the icing on the cake, the cherry on the sundae, he made sure that Alec would not last the season by purposefully overworking him to the point of a stress fracture (Lottich was actually surprised he lasted as long as he did).  Yep, definitely threw it away. Good observation.

What's a Valpo fan doing in Two Rivers?

The bigger issue with the tourney is the location not the format. Needs to be more centrally located. It is also the schedule.

They need to make it Thursday-Sunday. Having it on two weekdays makes it too hard to schedule for a vacation. If you have it Thursday-Sunday people could possibly take a half day on a Friday and Thursday is only for the bottom four teams anyway so who cares.

I get they want to get on ESPN and that's probably why they have it in the current format, but I think if they laid the law and said this is what we are going to do take it or leave it ESPN, ESPN would make it work to broadcast the game on a Sunday.

Green Bay has now taken over the 15 seed on ESPN taking on Louisville in Indy.

Valpo projected as a 7 seed in the NIT Oakland an 8.

Will be interesting if NKU would get a CBI or CIT invite if they don't win it all or if Green Bay or Wright St would.

Any chance if Valpo is left out of the NIT they try the Vegas 16? They've already done the CIT/CBI thing.

We all know how much Valpo likes neutral site games ;)

Everyone's complaining but Valpo wouldn't have won the regular season anyways because Peters was too hurt to play.

It's clear they would have lost whether this game was played at Oakland JLA or in China.

I think after the five year contract is up, the league will realize the tournament needs to be more centrally located and switch the venue to Milwaukee Chicago or somewhere in Ohio.

Detroit threw them the most money for now, but will they continue to do so when they see the poor attendance numbers?

The league said there was 8000 for last nights games. That probably includes the first session of women's games which was probably 1000 or so combined. Way better than any of our home venues would have gotten.

Tuesday will be embarrassing playing the game in an empty area, but had Oakland made it or Detroit it certainly wouldn't have been empty. The neutral site isn't the problem at all, it's the location. Detroit is not centrally located. Tourney needs to be in Chicago Milwaukee or perhaps Cleveland?

I think I speak for all Valpo Fans when I say go Phoenix today!

We need Green Bay to run the table and shock the world beating a two seed and get this conference back on the map!

It's clear Valpo and Oakland had no interest in doing that this year so why not them?  ;D
