Valpo has the Best record in the league, the best talent, best rebounders and defensive players, time to get to work and wrap this thing Friday. Time to show that they can over come adversity

"O.P. Kretzmann. He was the university president that set the vision and course for Valparaiso to move to Division 1. His statement "a great university needs to be nationally recognized in at least one sport" set the vision for Valparaiso to move to D1. His actions were the catalyst." Why not they tried to make him a Saint in Valpo, haven't you noticed all those ST O.P. signs at each corner!!!!!   ::)

This a game that sets the tone for the rest of the season,, Valpo needs to play with intensity, rebound and strong tight defense from the start.  Valpo 78- Oakland 70 hope I'm right  ;D

Well here we are no Room to give up a game, seems to get down to this point in every season. Losing any of the next four games means, that Valpo depends on help to win the league. Lets see what this team is made of.
Valpo 78 CSU 64, Rebounds Valpo 45 CSU 31, foul shots 25 Valpo  14 CSU   ;)

So Valpo should stay home and not get  embarrassed. That is not this team they work hard they make the other team work hard. If this team plays its game they will make Kentucky work harder then they like and make a game of it. KU 89 VU 84

5-1 with two close ones, MSU and ISU being tight. the young players grow to be dependable most of the time Nick plays more. The KU game a 15 point loss.

Unless there is a HUGE walk-up crowd it is not going to be a very impressive turnout.  As of now there are still 174 seats available in the lower sections and maybe 200 sold upstairs.  :(

I finally came to the conclusion last season that there are 3 things that are essentially carved in stone, and thus represent a complete waste of time to further discuss, debate, criticize, or defend:
---the men's basketball program marketing effort (or lack thereof) - it is what it is and it isn't going to change.
---the need to remodel/revamp the ARC - not going to happen in the next 10 years - it is what it is and it isn't going to change.
---the continuing relative decline of the HL and what it needs to do to elevate its profile and standing among the spectrum of D-1 conferences.  The conference simply does not have the visionary leadership nor the necessary level of commitment from its member programs to pull out of this tailspin. There is absolutely no reason for hope here, short of a new commissioner and several new AD's (especially P.C. female AD appointments, all of whom are in over their heads and all of  whom have conflicting gender-based agendas.
now that's a right for the thread!

5-3 OU RIU and a trip that kills the RPI  ???

I don't get the fascination with RPI - it is just one of many ranking/rating systems that the selection committee uses in selecting/seeding the NCAA Tournament - but certainly not the only one.

Are you saying playing at #4 RPI UO (last years RPI) will kill our RPI?  Or the neutral games against Alabama (#79) and BYU(#67)/St. Louis(#207) will kill our RPI more than home games against Southern Utah (#336) and Coppin St (#327)?

No that losing to any one else other then OU or RIU will negatively effect our RPI. Though we should forget RPI and enjoy the seasons games.    I am looking forward to the new season game by game
