While reading yesterday's stories about Drew Gooden's failure to qualify for the Finnish roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, I couldn't help but notice two other names missing from the final roster: Samuel Haanpaa and Antti Nikkila (though it appears Shawn Huff did make the roster). It seemed like both Sam and Antti were in camp, but neither made the final 12.

Aside from Shawn Huff and Ryan Broekhoff, any word on other alums that made their national rosters for the tournament?

According to CBS, Ben Howland appears to be a strong candidate for the opening. However, this is the first opening over the past few seasons that seems like a very good fit for Bryce. Nationally relevant school in a major conference, basketball-first school (that routinely outdraws the Bucks in Milwaukee), private institution run by the Jesuits, close enough where he can maintain/strengthen his current recruiting relationships.

I was never particularly worried about the rumors re: Mississippi State, Tulsa, or DePaul, nor have seen Bryce's name at all linked to the Marquette job. This just seems like a case where I could see good reasons for interest by both parties.

Hopefully I'm just being paranoid...thoughts?

Has anyone heard about Valpo kids signing on with wood bat summer league teams? I remember watching a handful of our players in the Northwoods League the last two summers but haven't heard of any signings this year.
