Adonis Filer, formerly of Bishop Noll, who has said in the past that he was considering Valpo, has transferred from Brewster Academy to Notre Dame Prep, where he will be playing among one of the best starting five in the country--it now includes center 7-1 Steven Adams (committed to Pitt), Ricky Ledo, Xavier commit Myles Davis, and Sam Cassell Jr.--and Filer will probably be receiving a lot of attention from teams in the more prominent conferences.

That ESPN link seems pretty outdated.  They paint him as a mid-major type player when in actuality he has really emerged as a high major talent.  He currently has offers from Baylor, Tennessee, Utah and Oregon State and is said to be on the radar for several other major programs.  These transfer definitely point to what you're talking about valpopal...a kid who is posturing to get lots of attention from big time programs.  Valpo doesn't have a chance at this kid.

I kind of hate to side with Zville on anything but since we all know where he is going with this let me point out that the date is august 12, school will resume shortly, and the answer to this mystery needs to be reveiled.

Thanks for the love, Ducky.  8)  Sorry that agreeing with me causes you pain.

I guess my real point is that discussing the scholarship situation for '12-'13 is premature until the roster/scholarship situation for '11-'12 is finalized.  Trust me ... I'm not trying to stir anything up or trigger speculation.  It's probably best to just sit back and wait for official announcements.

Didn't we get one of the best players in VU Basketball history at the last moment, when he showed up just prior to school starting?  I'm sure they had to rewicker the scholarships that year as well.

Sad to say you're probably right. He's going to go to a big D1 school, aand likely have a good deal of success. Valpo would have had to much more involved then they were at a much earlier stage to ever have a chance.

Not 2013, but 2014: I understand Erick Locke, a shooting guard from Brooks HS in Chicago, has officially received an offer from Bryce.

hoosierscout.net has him ranked in the top 50 in America.  The list includes 7 kids from Indiana.  If true that has to be one of if not the best Indiana class ever.

Elijah Ray, the 6'6" banger from Bowman verbally committed to IUPUI, according to the NW Indiana Times.

He would have helped, but obviously there are no spots available.

More information from chicagohoops.com about Erick Locke and the scholarship offer Coach Drew recently extended to him.

Funny how he talks about Valpo getting to the tournament one day like we have never been lol.  I know it has been since my last year of school since we were in the NCAA tourney, but it seems like the youth definitely have not heard of us like they used to.
