I notice Taylor Richards is not on the 19-20 roster. Didn't play much then got hurt.

She's listed as a student assistant. Possibly (no info here), her injury(ies) were not going to allow her to play, or it was clear that her playing time would be minimal, but she will stay involved with the program in exchange for keeping her scholarship.

Women's basketball gets 15 scholarships, so this is not an unusual arrangement in that sport.

Good catch! Curious if she counts to the 15 total.

I was hopeful we would add a C/PF before next season. Morrison's return will help and hopefully Profitt can play. Even so we remain thin up front and the 2 commits for the season following are wings.

I believe that it does. She was listed as a sophomore last season, so she would have two more years on scholarship expected. It's likely that they can absorb this without issue...OR, they have open scholarships this year (there are 13 players listed on the roster) and will go year-to-year and have it for her senior year as well as long as they have one available.

Again, this is not at all uncommon in the women's game.

Taylor Richards had surgery on Wednesday and her career is over from what I understand. She will stay with the program.

Sorry to hear that.  Saw her play in HS and she was a solid player, who due to injuries didn't get to fulfill her potential on the court.  Good to hear she'll stay with program in that capacity and finish her academic career as a champion off the court.  Good luck Taylor and prayers for successful recovery.

We have added a senior transfer. Alexis Cowan 5-7 from Florida Atlantic. She fits right in, sat out last year due to injury.
She only averaged 4.2 two years ago so no big expectations. This coaching staff loves guards and wings. That is all they have added so far including future recruits.

Their philosophy seems to be 5 out on offense which would mean, more 3 point shooters, long wings and less "post" players.

The Dave Wolter era revisited, just need Debbie Bolen back. Of course the potential problem with the strategy is on the defensive end, but entertaining basketball.

Evans has replaced 3 of her 4 assistants from last season. Top assistant Gleason the latest change. She is now an assistant at William and Mary. Not sure about the other two.

Any reasons given?

Her SID will help her... Ryan Wronkowicz...formerly of the brown and gold...

You can't teach height, but I am surprised that she stayed D-1.  Very slow.

Split on the Dakota road trip. Probably should have swept. Nicole K has not played as I am assuming she is still hurt. We need her.

Still don't understand why we can't figure out how to get Hales shots. 4 shots in 36 minutes today.  No way anyone other than Stoller should be taking more shots.

Lets give a shout out to the Valpo Ladies as they beat undefeated Bowling Green 95-90 in overtime. A great 4th quarter comeback lead to the victory with Grace White scoring 3 points at the 20 second mark to tie the score. Ladies have had a tough schedule with 4 road games before todays home game with 2 of the road games against big 10 teams. As far as Nicole K. playing we may never see her play again do to injury.

Good comeback win.  They could have folded in the 4th quarter, but kept at it.

Watched the end of 4th quarter and OT and BGSU really wilted at the end missing FTs and almost all their shots.

Sad but expected on Nicole.

Big win Weinman and Van Kempen finally hit some shots.

Broken record time, Hales scores 21 on 10 shots.

A very good road win by 7 for the women last night at Toledo. Toledo had only lost by 3 earlier this year at Notre Dame, and went to the 2nd round of the WNIT last year.

valpotx

Yes, they are limiting turnovers, and are shooting a lot better than last year's numbers.  It is good to have extra folks healthy so far.

Next injury is on you. That whole team seems like Fazekas sometimes.

Maybe this year will be different.

Detroit is not any good, 0-7 to date but Johanson is actually getting PT. She is averaging over 7 points having played in all games to date even scored 17 in one game. She played 8 minutes in two years at Valpo.

We play UD next on the schedule.
