Didn't watch all of them/it. But good run stopper and I saw some good passer pressure.

Navarro has ended up at Illinois as a preferred walk on.

Gasperoni looked decent on his highlights. Needs to add a few pounds but his instincts are good. Listed at 6-1 215 but looks smaller on tape. Brewer's highlights look like he's got some ability. McNerney doesn't appear to have played much in HS...at least his senior year. May have been injured.

Apparently a new release of remaining recruiting commits is coming out.

More good size at receiver plus a giant OL guy!  Now to add some muscle and get them up to playing at a D1 level.  Really looking forward to the season and even to the Brown and Gold game on Saturday--wish I could be there but hope we can get a few reports!!

If you want I'll slip down to Franklin and teepee his house with brown and gold toilet paper. I always like to show the recruits how much Valpo loves them  ;), especially for flipping schools. Playing time must be a real persuasive tool with this generation.

EDIT: That's not Franklin, IN that is Franklin Township part of Indianapolis on the southeast side. (Franklin Central HS) Much closer to my house which is on the southwest side of Indy, in what some would call a rural part.

I have to admit that Weeks flipping to VU from St. Francis is kind of surprising.  Going from a scholarship program coming off of back to back national championships and already being announced as part of the recruiting class

to a non-scholarship program, appears on the surface to be a sacrifice most players/students might not make. St Francis is a very impressive program and recruits at a high level so I expect that this kid has some talent.

Could be because he shrunk 1" in height and lost 5 lbs. since committing to St. Francis. ;D ::) ;). We are getting the smaller version it appears.

I would have to think that Weeks looked at VU academics and also playing at a DI school and decided to give VU a shot. VU is certainly the better academic and more prestigious school of the two, that and the resurgence of the program probably helped.

St. Francis had two players participate in a Pro Day this April.  One of them, Nick Ferrer the NAIA national player of the year this past season, guided USF to back-to-back national titles. He measured 6-foot-3, 226 pounds. Very good size for an NAIA Quarterback. Ferrer is No. 2 on the NAIA career passing touchdowns list with 136 and he is No. 4 on the NAIA career passing yardage list with 12,535 yards overtaking No 5, former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, in the 2017 National title game .He probably has a decent shot at making a practice squad somewhere.

When was the last time a VU player looked to have even a small shot at the NFL and participated in a Pro Day workout? Perhaps some of the more Football centric posters have some idea?

Not sure but think Greg Wood, our punter in 2012 had at least a tryout.  I also think Ryan Kozey had a look.  He was an OL in 2008 and had the size at 6'8" 290#.  Before that in recent time perhaps Rob Giancola had a look, not sure.

Greg Wood went to Bears rookie camp in 2013 and was quickly cut

JJ Nunes actually just had quite the pro day!

Those sound reasonable.  Going way back, of course, Gary Puetz made it along with Fuzzy Thurston way before him.  In my class Dick Raddatz went to training camp with the Eagles as a punter.

I think Tom Dohrman also had a tryout with the Bears.

The really strange thing on the Weeks commitment situation is that he signed and was announced as a St. Francis guy on Feb. 7th and on Feb 27th he was committed to Valpo. Awfully quick to have that sudden of a change. Cynical me would believe that something was lost in the translation between St. Francis and Weeks.

Maybe it will to Valpo's benefit.

David Macchi must have gotten a look at some point since he played in NFL Europe (I believe).
