Nice write up on McKeag....

Wow!  Wonder when was the last time a football recruit received that kind of press.  Great stuff and picked Valpo over an Ivy League team!  Fantastic!!

And he did all that without wearing pads and a helmet.  Tough kid.

BTW, do you think it is a coincidence that Apple Valley's colors are BROWN & GOLD?

So if we can get 10 to 15 of Lehigh's and Wyoming's players to transfer to Valpo we'll win the FCS title?  ;)

I wonder what instrument he plays?

Another commitment

Looks like we are targeting defense.  Another Linebacker.  This kid was a first team all conference player.

Watching film of Peifer and Mckeag our defense is getting a lot faster talent. This brings the recruiting total up to 10, JD24 hinted at a receiver committing last weekend. I have that we are in final running for Trey King and Adam Meyer as our top two receiver targets but no commitment. JD did either of those players commit?

I count 12 to date....the beauty this year is that we are pretty solid across the board barring major exodus.  I would like to see a few more DB's, perhaps a punter for the future. Will we add a QB?  Most program seem to like to have one per class....certainly not a need.

1   OL     Aaron Byrd    Bradley, IL       6-3  280
2   DE     Adrian Guzman    Valparaiso, IN       6-4  215

If my memory serves me well (doubtful) we have taken a lot of kids from Florida and California in the past.  I think last year we had more kids from Florida than any other state.  This year the emphasis seems to be on the Midwest.  Could it be that in the past we have looked for players who knew little about the horrific past and now with the turn-a-round we can go after kids from our backyard?  Or is it a cost factor?

I was thinking of the WR from Colorado...Tristen.... but he hasn't committed as of yet. Valpo was a little late offering him so we'll see. Adam Meyer is a lineman....at least the one listed a page back.

Coaches were in Florida per usual schedule. I know I saw some offers put out there.

JD24

Kid also had offers from Dayton and Morehead St.

2 More commits

Tanner Allton Columbus OHIO, 6'7 190 TE/WR
Kolton Sherman Millington MICH 6'0 175

Breese is a big time o-line recruit had several smaller offers and 2 in conference. Allton looks like a large body we can line up wide and will go get ball. Sherman looks to be a larger sized corner, could see him at safety

Class should be at 15 total

If the 6'7" is accurate, that could be more of a hindrance than the aid it would appear to be a first glance for a WR and he'd have to put a ton of weight on to line up as a Y TE.

Can he shoot a basketball with accuracy?

He is on the basketball team. How adept he is at it remains a secret. I guess it is possible that Coach Dave's chief competition is Coach Matt.  ;D

He's listed here at 6'6" 195#  Video looks like he has pretty good hand and clearly can go up and catch the ball.  Interestingly enough, he didn't drop one ball through the whole thing!!  :o
