Valpo has a chance to obtain several things this weekend. 2nd 6 win season in 6 years. 4/6 winning PFL seasons.

Drake is no chump, their defense is very good and the offense has gotten better (was abysmal hints starting 0-8).

I am hoping for a Valpo win in 18 degree weather and great momentum into recruiting season

Need to change the post title. Game is not @ Drake, it is at home.

16 - interesting. If Valpo does better in football, perhaps the university strategy is to bring in more male students. Good products enable interest. Now they need to increase student interest as for basketball it is at a low.

University should go all in on football I have pleaded to University employees. Would instantly be largest donor base athletically if athletes given great experience.

The 1 4 year senior, losing records, and dwindling attendance in basketball hurting Valpos pockets.

The city tailgating location was a great start, drinking and selling beer before games great. Charles Small and Padilla seem really bought in. It's a numbers game and if Valpo is smart they will start choosing the 110 paying athletes

Fox announced 23 seniors walking, 23 potential donors , legacies , etc, 24 on roster

I'm hoping for Dawson to break the rushing record along with a Valpo win!   :twocents:

I just took a quick look at the two deeps for this game and compared it to the guys listed as graduating.  Not counting injuries--like Parrish--4 starters and 2 backups on offense and 3 starters and 2 backups on defense, plus Bartholomew. If that is it we should be in very good shape going into next season.
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

Was going to save this for recruiting but first calls after the season should be to Parrish, Files, Ross, Chilton, Annis, Sciarroni, and Davis

Getting 2-3 of these guys back would be tremendous. Without them team is thin at OL, WR, and Safety

Valpo 24-10. Don't let down

I wouldn't expect a big crowd to help.  28 degrees and a 20 mph wind.  Yikes!  Dawson will get a lot of carries.

OMG its gonna be freezing  :o , definitely need hand warmers!  With that weather I expect some fumbles and alot of slip n sliding, just hope its Drake that does it.

7-0 Bulldogs

Let a slant take off for 80 yards

10-0 Bulldogs

Bad throw INT from Appel, defense holds.
Offense 3 and Out. Not looking good

Another Punt. Valpo OL is completely outmatched

17-0

Valpo punter huge personal foul. This game is over Valpos OL can't give Appel more than slant opportunities. Really big program let down

Ugly. Terrible way to end the season. Beaten at every phase.   :(

First question at presser is how Landon wants to address the OL. They don't need freshman they need JUCO / Bounce backs to help immediately.

The Ends for Drake were doing anything and everything they wanted.

Post Mortem needed , improved season. Feels like with all graduating players need a big off-season.

Looks like we had a bad Appel at QB today...
Valpo football has objectively progressed from bad to mediocre. But what is good is football is bringing in much needed dollars to the university.

Seems like the football team has been watching MBB and learning how to come out flat and not ready to play. This was a winnable game.

While we laid an egg today, the program is in better shape than 2019 (before Covid19). Good to have a team that is competitive on the field. A 6-2 record in PFL is possible. Maybe we need to recruit Minnesota better. Give some of those St Thomas players a educational option

Can't win with that OL play.

That said...disappointing end to a promising season.

The program is getting better, and Fox has them in the right. I'm just ant to be smart about extending his contract. We did it with Lottich and pulled the trigger too fast.
