Reporting from sec 223. Wow do we look like dogshit in the first 8 minutes. And we've put UWM in the bonus already! Man!

What a god awful final play drawn up on the inbounds. No surprise.

Nice job squandering the lead. Two turnovers in the closing minutes and sagging off a a D-I guard by 8 feet to allow an open three. (Yeah, he's not a three point shooter, but he's still a D-I guard.)

<< insert typical rink tirade about squandering leads, playing undisciplined, bad in-game coaching, being a joke, underachieving, general embarassment, aw golly shucks small town IN attitudes, etc >>

Getting sloppy with our turnovers. Come on, play smart, secure ball for the final 3:30.

Tevonn Walker's leaping ability is unreal!

Again, we get a little bit excited as a fanbase, and poof ... disappointed. We have looked so incredibly bad this half. Sloppy with the ball AGAIN. I hope this pisses off the players and coaches. We should stomp a team like Wright St if we're supposed to be on par with St Marys, Gonzaga, BUTLER, etc. I guess we're not that caliber. Disappointing.

This color commentator is borderline brutal on the ears. The southern drawl, the know-it-all attitude, the vendetta he has against occasional silence.
#32
What a block by Peters! Sandwiched between hitting two three pointers. Attached boy.
#33
We better pull our heads out of our rears. Suddenly down 5 with 10:00 to go. Missing free throws, missing bunnies. Ugly looking stuff in the last few minutes, frustrating.

Make it down 7. Ugh!

Very good win. Blowout on the road against a good team. Impressive D, great job on the boards. If we can straighten out the ball security thing, we just might be dangerous nationally, after all.
#35
Tevonn, please don't throw up a contested floater, with all your teammates trailing you, with 25 seconds left on the shot clock, when we're trying to close out a win on the road with 2:30 to go.

I'm not always the biggest Drew fan, but Kampe's embarrassing belligerence is making me thankful for what we've got.
#37
My god, our unforced errors and sloppiness. Cheers to our fantastic defense, though!

10 point lead with 7+ minutes to go. Hope it holds up!

Officiating seemed fair in the first half... no opinion in second.

The call is... a bit homerish.

They did just miss a clear travel by Vashil before Tevonn's three.

After a little more than a half, the eye test says we are the better team. Our talent looks clearly better. A loss would be disappointing.

Love that the schedule makers are so accommodating to my NSH travel plans. DW's parents live down here. Last year was our turn to be here for Thanksgiving when Valpo played in that tournament at Municipal Auditorium, and this year was our turn to be down here for Christmas and they're playing here again. It's turning into quite the tradition.

Vandy's probably the best comparison. UMass, UConn, Penn, Nova and Bama come kind of close, yet unlike Valpo and Vandy they are simply a truncation of the full name.

Ole Miss?

Now, we hope that OrSU really is the middle of the pack PAC-12 team they're projected to be.  Not quite as exciting if they end up a bottom feeder at season's end.  So, from here on out, go Beavers!

This OSU crowd is raucous...much louder than Eugene.  If they hold on here, this is tougher than any Horizon League road game.

Were you judging from just an audio feed?  In the second half, it looked like every other seat was empty and most fans were sitting on their hands.  Crowd seemed pretty invisible to me.

Yikes the last two minutes.  Back to back turnovers, then 3-6 on freebies.  Good thing we had a nice ~12 point cushion to outlast that ugly stretch.

That's the view coming in from I-30, eh?  Eek.  Maybe the pictures don't do it justice, but the juxtaposition is awful, it looks crowded, and it clashes.  Worse, 50% of the grand chapel structure is hidden from that angle.  Peek-a-boo, the chapel is back there somewhere, and it's only half the size it used to be.

Hope it's better in person.  In the picture, the new addition looks like an office building from the 1980s.  Not a fitting combo with the chapel.

FTS had a helluva lot to do with the win, too. 100% (9-9) until some hiccups in garbage time.

I started watching midway through the 2nd, haven't seen Vashil at all? Hurt?

Quote from: vu84v2 on March 07, 2015, 11:01:34 PMvery fortunate that Peters did not get called for traveling on his key driving basket down the stretch. He must have taken at least 4 steps to the basket.

2, maybe 2.5 ... it was beautiful, Kominsky-esque footwork and reach.
