Is it an ankle or a knee for T Walker?

It seems like a #13 seed is the far most likely scenario.

Against a #4 seeded Baylor team, perhaps? That would be fun, despite automatically eliminating a rooting interest from game 1...

Nicely done boys! Make room for another banner...

Two EXCELLENT entry passes from D Walker to Alec there in about a 60 second stretch.
#55
Just when it starts to get comfortable, we start turning over the ball left and right. Ugh! That felt like 4 straight giveaways.
#56
We came out of a timeout and crapped out a possession *that* ugly?

Jubril and Nickerson trying hard to destroy this team the past two games.

You can't single those two out tonight so far. You've got Vashil making stupid mistakes, T Walker making stupid mistakes, KC making stupid mistakes. Sloppppyyyy.

Fernandez misses an alley oop that KC puts in the cylinder for him. After an earlier mis-handled bunny. Can't take that man's lack of offensive coordination anymore.

On what network are you watching the game worth this horrible announcer?

You get five timeouts for the game, but lose one if you don't use it in the first half.  Bryce used the timeout with 12:00 left in first half.

Sure, but that doesn't preclude him from taking the fourth at a critical time in the first half. You're just saying it's more valuable to hang on to that TO rather than use it for they possession. Maybe you're right.

T Walker with dunk of the decade for valpo hoops. Wowzas. Like the way momentum is swinging.

What do you mean he did not have one to give?

Yeah, we ended up with a good look. Complete luck stone that hasn't been the norm all game. And still it was a deep three at the end of a helter skelter possession. I saw it as very important we put forth our best chance at closing the half time gap to 3 or 2.

Bryce not taking a timeout there to set up the final possession of the half was piss poor coaching, imo. We are so sloppy and disorganized this game.

Left the office at 7:00 CT, tuned in at 8 expecting to catch the second half. Whoops. Looks like I missed a really good one ... damn.

I'll be at Sunday's game in Milwaukee, that'll have to make up for it.

Vashil was sent to the far end at half court so that if he was fouled it would've been an intentional.

When they fouled Peters under the Oakland basket, Vashil was nearby.  I know I'm beating a dead horse, just trying to stand up for the accuracy of my original point.

Anyways, I'm sure I'm oversimplifying how difficult it is to subtly foul a guy away from the ball in the heat of the game.

I thought the ASN broadcast was good, not great.  I enjoyed the post-game coach and player interviews.  And them running the video segment about Valpo players going to Washington, IL to help with tornado damage.  At halftime, I liked the rundown of other mid-major news and notes.

Watching at home, I thought the ARC crowd sounded really tepid and quiet for such a close game.  Anyone else?

Probably didn't do "Hack-a-Vash" because Bryce kept subbing him out for Jubril? Can't hack a player who is on the bench...

That's not really what happened.  After Vashil missed the front end of his 1-and-1, Oakland went down court and turned the ball over.  Vashil was still on the floor, Oakland chose to foul Nickerson with the ball. Nickerson also missed the front end of his 1-and-1, so it didn't bite them.  After Nickerson missed, Oakland went down court and missed two three pointers, with Peters grabbing the rebound.  Vashil was still on the floor and Oakland chose to foul Peters with the ball.  There were still 37 seconds left, 4 point game.  They should have found a way to foul Vashil, even if it meant running off more clock.  Fouling Alec was the dagger, he hit both FTs.  Vashil was subbed out after Peters made his second.

Eventually, Bryce would have taken Vashil off the floor and/or one of the fouls would have been called intentional, so hack-a-Vash (off the ball) wouldn't have worked forever.  But until then, it was clearly their best option.

Once it started getting late, I wonder why Oakland didn't employ the hack-a-Vash strategy more than that one time.  Fouling him off the ball seemed genius.  I fear we go to overtime or worse if they would have kept that up.

After my gripe about the miscues in the first 4 minutes, I thought it was pretty good basketball for the rest of the half.  We look like the better team.  Feels like we should have been up by 10 all half, even when the lead was half that.  Not very comfortable with the 6 point lead, hopefully we can finish this out.

"...here in Northeast Indiana"

Uh, correct state, I guess?

The first time, I figured slip of the tongue.  Then he said it again 10 minutes later.  Terrible.

We'd be better off with him saying Northeast Illinois.

A couple failed fast break chances already in the first 4 minutes. Ugly stuff. Why does this team always look like the sloppiest team in the NCAA whenever I watch?
#72
Game is being televized in glorious HD on channel My 24 in Milwaukee. Pleasant surprise.

I laughed every time the announcer touted the defenses as an explanation for the dreck on the court or dropped banal platitudes about "two heavyweights slugging it out" or some other such nonsense.  That's how you spin it when you're trying to keep viewers from tuning away from a couple uninteresting mid-majors playing the sloppiest basketball on the airwaves that night.

I think it's denial to shrug off our pathetic play as the product of great defense.  Looks like some others on here agree, perhaps majority of you disagree.  I think we had great success in the lane the first half, UWGB adjusted, and we stubbornly and stupidly played with no adjustment.

No one else thought we looked careless, unprepared, and silly all half?  I really thought it was an embarrassing performance.  If UWGB makes us look like that, then playing anyone in the NCAAs with a seed of 6 or higher is going to destroy us.

Wow, holy bad.  That was the least intelligent half of basketball I've ever seen Valpo play.  Mistakes a'plenty and the same futile display of driving, being stuck, and throwing up a shot that had no chance.  Over and over again.  They had more bad possessions that half than they had good possessions.  Lots of middle school quality garbage.  Nasty stuff, really annoying to watch.  Bad coaching, bad playing, bad basketball.  Yuck.

How ridiculous that this game was even close?  Either these two teams played their worst games of the season tonight or the Horizon league is a joke.

16 minutes into the second half, we still flat out suck. We're playing like slow, clueless children. Really ugly stuff. Can't believe we only trail by 1.
