Looks like Rowdy has appeared in 5 of 9 games so far for the Mavs.  3 minute average for those games he appeared in.

Carlisle has tested him early in those games to see if he has a hot hand.  Since he hasn't, he doesn't play after that spurt.  He is going to have to take advantage of any minimal action from here on out, barring any injuries, in order to get back in Carlisle's rotation.

Is it possible that Ryan has been used minimally so he can learn the pace of the NBA game, since European leagues play a much slower game? That could be a huge mindset thing that Ryan is being used slowly and sparingly for, especially early in the season.

Just a quick note to alert everyone that Dallas will be visiting the Bulls Monday evening at 7 p.m. Let's hope Rowdy gets playing time.

Ryan had a nice game last night 5 pts, 2 Rebs.  He will quickly head up the charts of Valpo NBA scoring leaders.  From a post from April at the end of Alec's rookie year:

"Congrats Alec.

With that 36, Alec finished with 82 pts for his rookie year.  Bryce had 118 his rookie year.  Bryce had 1081 for his NBA career.  Will Alec be the all-time leading scorer from Valpo before his NBA career finishes?  He's already moved into 5th place!

Bryce  1081 (118 rookie year)
John Janish  734
Milt Schoon  616
Bob Dille    296
Alec Peters  82
Don Bielke   14
Ryan Broekhoff 11 (through 7 games)

Question--in what game will Ryan tie Alec? And, can he catch Bryce's rookie year mark of 118

Nice to see Rowdy finally get some decent playing time in today's game and produce. He had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block in 16 minutes on the court.

Both he and Alec need minutes to show what they can do. Give them 2 minutes with guards that don't distribute and they won't show much. Give them minutes where they can show all of their game and they will show all the parts of their game that contribute to winning basketball.

As much as it sucked to get blown out, I was very happy that it allowed him to get some run.

I don't know much about these pre-Bryce guys. Fun to see the stats. Was it spelled Janisch?

Yep, unfortunately, he had his chances to make 3s in each game he played with limited minutes, but he couldn't do it.  He had to show that he could come in cold and do what he was signed up to do.  He is our 14th guy now...

That's a shame. I always thought he and Alec needed minutes to show their entire game and get in a shooting rhythm. Unfortunately their perceived lack of athleticism limits their chances and their minutes in the nba. The few times I managed to see Rowdy play his minute it seemed like he was forcing his shots. Like he knew he was only going to get a minute or two to play and only likely to get one touch, so he had to throw up any kind of shot even if he didn't have a good look.

Dirk and Barea are inactive for today's game, so Rowdy is getting minutes, and doing something with it!  He is 3/3 and 2/2 from 3 in 7 minutes in the second quarter.

Edit:  3 minutes later, and he now has 11 points on 4/5 and 3/4 for 3!  He is the leading scorer for the Mavs as halftime approaches.

Up to 15 points with 5:44 left in the game, on 6/8 and 3/5 shooting.  He is playing well overall, and has probably been in for the last 5-6 minutes.

We lose 106-100, but the only reason it was that close, is because our bench brought the 19 point lead down to single digits in the 4th, led by Rowdy's play.  Great job in 22 minutes!

What was his final line?
