Another attack on Christianity, another good person destroyed. Congratulations to the minions of the "religion of peace," and the weak-kneed "useful idiots" at Oakland.  What a pathetic state of affairs in a country whose best days are definitely behind us.

I've held off on commenting on this firing, but can't keep my comments to myself anymore lol.  There are always players that are going to embellish the truth, because they are teenagers and early 20 year old kids.  This Bachrouche player sounds like a complete wuss to me.  If you feel that you are being pressured to go to a church you don't want to attend, then give your reasons for it and DON'T GO.  Kids seem to find reasons for why they aren't playing, and most often the reasoning is that they are not playing well.  So many people have a view of themselves that is completely the opposite of reality.  I see this very often in my field as an HR Manager. 

Monitoring your diet and conditioning is an important part of athletics, so anyone that has an issue with that shouldn't be playing sports in college.  We were weighed in several times throughout the year, were given pointers on healthy diet, and were asked to attend church services voluntarily.  As I have stated before, I went to church growing up, but made the choice that I would live a moral life regardless of religion, so do not consider myself religious anymore.  Never did I feel pressured to attend an event, even though you knew that it was Coach's preference that you go.  Any pressure you feel is created by yourself...unless someone blatantly tells you that you need to go.

This leads to underachieving for the kind of talent on hand and in and of itself may be a good reason for finding another coach. Many times when this happens the coach is not the president of the university's spouse. Therefore the coach is removed without revealing the reasoning for the removal. In this case, because of the timing, the need to reveal the reasoning for the coaches removal had to happen. If Francis had not been the president's wife I think her dismissal might have raised an eyebrow but the reasoning might not have been revealed.

The whole point of my post, even if it wasn't apparent, was that kids are being treated like winners more and more as the decades go by, regardless of performance.  I abhor this mentality, as it just creates a bunch of entitled kids, that expect everything to be handed to them.  I am sure that you are older than me, and probably thought the same thing of my generation (I am 32), and it is MUCH worse with the teens/pre-teens now, that it has gotten sickening.

I dunno.  I suspect it was bashing of false Christianity, as I find the examples in the quote entirely plausible (which is not the same as finding them to be true, mind you).  That he thinks this is what Christianity is all about is of course problematic, but the christian church bears some responsibility for this misunderstanding.  There are tons of false gospels flowing freely in the national bloodstream, and many of them come from inside the church.
