A tremendous leap for our program to better compete in one of the premier baseball conferences in the country! Recruiting will benefit and more importantly for the northern most team, with the worst weather in the conference...this will allow us to actually get out and practice on a real turf field when everyone else is in the spring!
Very good to see. Dragging that field and tarping after a rainstorm was always miserable, so the turf makes sense at Valpo. I know that it improved after my playing time, but it was probably still pretty bad at draining water. I was sad to see our actual dugout replaced over my last 2 seasons, as I always thought it cool to have an actual below-ground dugout. However, it made sense to raise it above ground, due to some of the drainage issues. The web streaming capability had always been a contentious one, due to the cost involved, so I am glad to see that is covered!
Kyle was a good guy, and pretty mobile/athletic for a 6'1"/6'2" & ~300 lb. Catcher. I always heard that his parents were 'loaded,' and this obviously confirms as such lol.
Yes, very needed to keep up with the MVC which is so much better than the Horizon in baseball.
Kudos to all involved!
