At the close of non-conference play, Valpo has slipped to #313 in today's NET ranking, and is not only last in the MVC but also the only MVC team in the 300s since Evansville has moved into the 200s. Fortunately, with IUPUI ranked #360, Valpo does not fall to last among the 11 Indiana schools but remains behind Purdue, IU, ND, Butler, ISU, Ball St, USI, PFW, and Evansville. Valpo resumes conference play next week at Drake, the top-ranked MVC team. Merry Christmas!
I'm not expecting a NIT run every year, with a NET (or other ranking) in the Top 50, but this is unacceptable. We couldn't compete in the Summit or Horizon Leagues right now.

Valpopal, love that you point out facts and numbers. They don't lie. Worst net in MVC and if not for Ft. Wayne worst team in Indiana. This is in seventh year of coaching. Newer coaches doing better in MVC.

Someone ask the Loyola people how that move to their new conference is going...they were smoked again a few nights ago

They had a golden age of talent, you can't fault them for striking while the iron was hot, even if they suck in the A-10 for a few years.  They are that much closer to future consideration for the Big East, which is their ultimate goal.  It is the same for Valpo in the MVC.  This is our long-term conference, there is really no other higher level conference that would take a school of our size/location, so we need to start competing in our premier sports.
