Recently announced that Ryan will play for Australia in the University games.  Congrats to a really fine young man and team leader for this coming year!!

Great news for Rowdy! The added experience and further development of his game should be beneficial. His gritty determined play and great effort on the court last semester constantly led by example. Although his nature seems to be somewhat more quiet, I hope he can also become a complete team leader this year, since the most vocal players from last year have moved on.

Didn't Witt also make the team the last time the games were held?

You are correct.  This from his bio:

Summer of 2009: Member of the Australian roster at the 25th World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia ... saw action in each of Australia's first two games before suffering minor injury that sidelined him for the rest of the tournament.

Congratulations to Ryan.  More experience can only be a good thing right now.

Richie Edwards is also on New Zealand's roster for the tournament.  Congrats to both!
