General VU Discussion / Moving on…-
October 29, 2022, 07:56:06 PM
Please delete if not allowed...

I've been moved on for a little while now (my wife no longer works for VU, we are at ND now). Anyways, been going throw some things and it's time to get rid of some of the VU I've collected through the years.

I've got some Homer Bobbleheads, a couple Crusader Bobbleheads, and so far 1 Victory Bell (there's another around here someplace). Also have a signed Homer/Bryce South Shore poster and an Alan Harre South Shore poster. Also have pieces of the old gym floor around here somewhere.

I probably won't be checking here very much so maybe best to send a DM, I think I get an email when that happens, if you're interested in any of it and we can try to make a deal.

I like Storm and Dunehawk best out of the list. A few others are fine.  Whatever, it doesn't matter to me lets just rip the bandaid all the way off and pick one.

I think you are about 6 weeks late to the party.

LOL, Teachers aren't anything special, they've just been told they are for so long they have a sense of entitlement that no one else has, or would dare have.....this may be the goofiest thing you've ever said, and I don't say that lightly.

Hopefully they just don't do addition by subtraction, am I right  :-X

I'm almost to the point where I wouldn't bother offering any freshman. Recruit them, build relationships with them, then go grab them when they're ready transfer after their first or second years. I'm all for player choice and giving the players some power, but as a fan the transfer portal is something I very much have come to dislike.

Here is a neat infographic that they posted. Did get some athletic money brought in!

I think the new guys will prove to be upgrades over what we lost, but that might be wishful thinking.  It's not like we were winning with the guys that were here.  Hoping for the best!

No final number I've seen. I got an email saying over $1million was raised.

Over $1,000,000 raised on Day of Giving...hats off to everyone involved at the campus and those of us who chipped in our part of that million!

Hope you were a part of this huge day!

How many years have to go by before option 3 is no longer eligible to be selected?

Those transfer downs all had to sit out a year didn't they? Brave new world now.

Who cares? He's an offensive liability and will be at MoSt too. Get to guard them 5-4 on that end and let him shoot all day.

Only 1 week away. I saw a crowdfunding opportunity already posted.  I always enjoy this day.  Proud to be Valpo!

I recall Bradford playing well at the end of a season after returning to his pg position. Overall I'd rank him in the bust category for whichever coach you want to put him with. Would he have been a bust had Drew been in charge of his development and not Matt? Who knows.

I think college athletes should be allowed to market themselves. Have a limited amount that they're allowed to make if you want and let them do ads for local businesses or give private lessons at local gyms. I'd try the Sheldon Edward's Special at the local sub sandwich shop.

I put leaning no only because a coaching change isn't going to happen (not because it shouldnt happen).

I haven't seen one season where the offense doesn't look lost in half court sets, player development/retention is not good, and in game adjustments are often done better by the opponent. I still think he was the right guy at the time of the hiring to keep the star studded cast we had together.

I think there have been pretty justifiable reasons for the majority of our transfers...JO leaving is different.  Lottich and company have to be better at recruiting the guys we have in order to retain them.  It has become more and more difficult not to enter the fan transfer portal as I think someone hinted at earlier.

He didn't make it over at Andrean...think there was a locker room incident or something I can't remember.  Maybe he's matured since then (if I'm remembering correctly, he was the problem).

Will miss his defensive flexibility, won't miss his 20% 3 point shooting or 2+ turnovers per game.  Best of luck to him, and lets find an upgrade.

Thats some stiff competition for that young man already.

He was pretty well known in the region. He coached several sports at several different high schools (I believe in an assistant role) and was involved with some AAU basketball.
