They did sign a couple of Americans this summer

no confirmation, on their English language site, at least, about Rowdy.
Nothing too prominent on the Russian language version either (e.g. no big photo).
I'm not seeing anything official, but some strong hints, say. Maybe they came back at him with a better offer.
Good for him!
Hmm, very interesting. Maybe he was told by some NBA scouts that playing in the EuroLeague would get him more looks from them
Maybe he figured that before he was russian to judgement.

Me too, but I enjoyed the videos.
One of the most promising snipers who play in Europe, while Brockhoff known for his diligence in the selection, persistence in the defense and the ability to adapt to the role of a coach requires. Here's how it looked in the statistics caps for Australia at the Oceania Championships this summer: two games against New Zealand Brockhoff averaged 2.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, carrying 25.5 minutes on the court. At the same time the ring in the two games he threw 5 times.
In addition to playing for the national team this summer Brockhoff dabbled in the NBA summer league. In the 5 matches for "Denver Nuggets" Australian scored an average of 4.4 points and 1.6 rebounds.
The dream of the NBA motivates Brockhoff since playing for the University of Valparaiso, Indiana, where he got after training at the prestigious Australian Institute of Sport. In the last two seasons playing for the University (2011-2012, 2012-2013) Ryan became the leader of the team with an average productivity of 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds, received an honorable mention among the best players according to US students Asssociated Press, but a legend Valparaiso became thanks to one throw.
(Video of Ryan's shot against Green Bay.)
This semi-final of the regional league, the winner of which receives the right to play in the top division NCAA. For 10 seconds before the end of Valparaiso lost 2 points when Brockhoff took the selection after a miss from the penalty opponent, ran through the whole area and dropped by three defenders. To determine the "cost" throw the judges had to watch the replay, which showed that Ryan was behind the three-point arc, and hit proved victorious. Valparaiso went to the finals, won it and earned the right to speak in the NCAA to the great happiness of a small town in Indiana.
Brockhoff exposed on the 2013 draft, but he did not choose, and signed a contract with the Australian "Besiktas".
For the Australian team of different ages Ryan acts since 2008. As part of the student team he first played at the Universiade 2011 in Shenzhen, and in 2013 the final meeting in Kazan with the Russian team, Andrey Zubkov and Maxim Grigoriev. Highlight on Brockhoff at number 10.

July 29, 2015 Ryan from the Australian team played a friendly match against Lithuania, chalked up a 6, 7, n, p 5 and 3 nt.
Rowdy quote:- I come in "Loco", to help the team achieve great success in the VTB United League and the Euroleague. I believe that the structure that we have gathered, great show itself and make some noise in the Euroleague. I am honored to play for a coach Bartsokasa - this specialist so successful experience behind him that working with them would benefit my career and personally, and the whole team. Play Euroleague - one of the most important goals of my career and I'm very happy that I could do it as a team at this level.
Coach's quote:- Ryan - one of the most promising strikers in Europe, and "Besiktas" he showed how quickly things can evolve. Now he has to prove he can make a serious contribution to the game at the highest European level. Obviously, he's a great sniper, very good fights on the selection, but I think he can help us in many other aspects.
Just a little was lost in translation!

Uh, c'mon. What mustache? ::)
Rowdy still hustles after loose balls, sometimes with not good results.
Based on Rowdy's eye, I'd hate to see what happened to the other guy...

Go Valpo!
Thanks for posting this. This is a great video and I will show it to my friend from Russia.
Ryan is mostly starting for a team in the round of 16 in the Euroleague (equivalent of the European Champions League in soccer, though obviously not as prestigious). That is certainly a good accomplishment.
Ryan's game from 1/14/2016 is up on ESPN3's replay section http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2738485/ (http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2738485/)
Very interesting and physical game.
