Valpo Basketball / Re: How To Increase RPI Today

Maybe something like they (Oakland) are good and will contend for their league championship?

Maybe they will win the title but time will tell us about that. Valpo and Milwaukee will give Oakland solid challenges IMO.

MSU wins in OT 99-93. In postgame interview Izzo says Oakland a real good team, and expects them to win their league and be in NCAA tourney. No Valpo love from Izzo tonite. Of course he just came off a tough win tonite so guess I can give him a break on his comment.

Valpo was Lunardi's answer. Not sure why that was not included in original shared tweet.

Iona beat Fairfield tonite, but what caught my eye in the box score was their star A.J. English scored 46 points. Wow. Valpo did a great job holding him in check offensively when we played Iona.

Iona is one of 11 unanimous picks to win its conference according to CBSSports. Valparaiso and Belmont also on that list.
Speaking of Iona, they have an excellent shooter in Isaiah Williams. Shoots for a high % for both 3 point and 2 point shots. Will be a player to watch in that game.

Pomeroy has labeled him as a top 5 shooter in the country as I recall from a quick twitter glance.

General Off Topic / Valpo restaurant recommendations
November 04, 2015, 12:52:55 PM
Could any of the local Valpo residents or nearby area folks on the board maybe give me say 3 to 5 area restaurants you might recommend? A coworker of one of my daughters is coming to Valpo this weekend to do a campus visit and asked for ideas. Thanks in advance!

Same article preview of Iona Gaels at #8.

Under Tim Cluess, the Gaels are going to get up and down the floor and take efficient shots from 3 and around the rim. They do lose David Laury, a terrific big man inside who could just about everything for an offensive-minded team, but return their table-setter in A.J. English, who is one of the best players in all of college hoops. Isaiah Williams is their swiss-army knife who can not only guard five positions, but also knock down 43 percent of his 3s. Then of course, Schadrac Casimir is a rising sophomore that looks likely to take the mantle from English next season, and Kelvin Amayo is a pretty good athlete who fills holes. To replace Laury, look for a rotation of players like Aaron Roundtree, Taylor Bessick and Jordan Washington.

Shane Hammink....I am hoping he blossoms and steps up at Valpo. Would be a nice thing and take some defensive pressure off Alec.
