I agree.If we get an interim perhaps we can wait til a new coach is hired to recruit-I would hate to think we have this current staff continue to offer scholarships -unless we are bound financially ?

Prevost was Flemings hire before he left I can't see him back, the team cycled through three RB coaches and two WR coaches last spring under Symmes.

Our incredibly efficient QB from 2022 was awfully inefficient and put in dangerous situations. There was useless motions, empty goal line sets, and Left tackles jumping down in the slots.

If Valpo / Fox are serious about winning. Symmes should be gone December 1.




This is not a building situation, 2/3 top players on O from Saturday were incumbent seniors. Our third touchdown was Butler, another senior.

If Symmes is back how bleak does Valpos 2024 offense look?

As a middle school teacher I thought it would be informative to ask what you think each of our sports programs grades are:
I understand it's not fair for the non scholarship programs ( or the ones with very few) to be graded the same as our fully funded so please adjust accordingly
Mine:
A programs
Men's Golf
B programs
Soccer Volleyball Tennis
C programs
Football ( men's basketball?) Baseball
D programs ( I admittedly don't know much about scholarships etc..)
Track/CC/Swimming/
D programs with scholarships
Women's Basketball
Softball
Women's Golf
I prefer not to give an F in my classroom

I think I may have discovered the problem with the women's golf team.  Not to single out any one player, but, the coach's daughter just shot 98 and is dead last in the field after round one.  She did make two pars however.  I'm sure she is a great kid and wonderful student. Not sure she should be playing D1 golf however.

Many people have said that the donors of past are dropping off
Mascot change being one of many reasons why they aren't interested in the direction of the school.

Without the Drew family to reach out to alumni- I would think it will be a hard sell.

Hopefully new AD hires better than previous.
Football amongst other programs have been historically bad due to poor coaching hiring practices.
Looking at our supposed top programs -3 of the 4 (not volleyball) have been terrible.Not sure if any other sports have full scholarships

Yeah. Twice as many losses to wins is something we don't want to give up.
Big loss if he leaves- which is ridiculous, because who, in their right mind would hire him, unless it was for an assistant position

Valpo finished tied for 3rd in Air Force Academy's tournament in Colorado. Better, Caleb Van Arragon won medalist honers after winning the first playoff hole.

Meanwhile the women's team is atrocious. How can there be such a dichotomy and when can it be fixed?
If our basketball teams are going to be mediocre at best perhaps our non revenue teams can be competitive?
