Quote from: Kyle321n on March 14, 2016, 11:31:37 AMI decided to "splurge" and get chairbacks for the game, got them in Section G, row N.  I'm thinking I should have waited until after 5 PM since that's when they are releasing the season tickets that are snatched up, but who knows how the chairbacks will show up for their season tickets, so I got what I could.

I'm in section G and within 2 rows of row N.
Can you yell something different so I know who you are? Like "what's that, talksalot, I can't understand what you are saying." ;)
I'll be in a old 1983 white Sox hat so I'm easy to spot.

Ticket sales look... OK. Not great. Pretty good downstairs, with the center six sold pretty well (half a dozen places left with four seats together?). Somehow D didn't sell as well, lots of seats remaining there.

CC upstairs has sold moderately well. And a few sold in BB and DD.

1,500?  We'll see how the walk-up is. Hopefully big! And hopefully a decent student section.

How'd we do last time? Columbia? 1,663 reported, also on a Tuesday. Hopefully we can do better than that for a much better VU team, etc. But, we'll see.

Come out to the ARC!

Valpo89

VU ran a full-page ad in today's Times Section that says tonight is "Pack the Arc" night. So that means 5,000 will show up, right?  ;D

QuoteExperimental rule The panel also approved an experimental rule to allow players six personal fouls, instead of five, in the 2016 postseason tournaments other than the Division I Men's Basketball Championship.

Gross. They should make the NBA more like college ball, not the other way around.

Actually why not conform to the international rules and standards across the board.  Our players are constantly having to adjust when playing outside the US of A.  Just because we invented the sport doesn't mean we must stick to our rules out of stubbornness when the rest of the world goes another direction.

Looking at the Vegas line movements... staying fairly constant in the 15.5 - 16 range...with 58% of the money on "TSU+the points" and 68% on the "Over" of 143.5

The only other game that matters would be the Seminoles giving 9 at home to Davidson with an OU of 169....   57% of the money is on FSU to cover, and 77% on the OVER.

Other NIT lines for today:
St. Marys -12 over New Mexico State
San Diego St -11 over Fort Wayne
Creighton -7 over Alabama
Florida -7.5 over North Florida
Washington -8.5 over Long Beach State
Ohio State -5 over Akron
South Carolina -16 over High Point

CIT games tonight:
Coastal Carolina -6.5 over Mercer
Tennessee State -2.5 over Ball State
ULMonroe - Pick'em - Furman

CBI game tonight
Siena -6.5 over Morehead State

63 and sunny?  Now what will the excuses be?

It's been a georgeous day for this time of year. Hopefully, a good crowd tonight!

Ohio State was like 1/4 full playing an in-state school on ESPN. Not all that surprising there isn't a huge draw for a SWAC team during the NIT. Although if I lived in Valpo I'd totally be there :/

mj

I believe that we will win.

No T Walker?

Looks like this team studied the Green Bay game tape.

We are getting out rebounded. Need to hit the glass in the second half

Texas Southern is polished. Very impressive.

Checked out some of the other games today, and our level of play tonight would not beat the other high seeds. Need to step it up and play consistently good basketball.

nkvu

We need to find some defense in the second half.

Aside from the students, Valpo's crowd is dull.  Come on folks!  Show at least a bit of emotion!  A bunch of our people look like they're watching an opera.

rink

I'm really surprised that a Mike Davis coached team is this undisciplined WRT technical fouls. Is not line there's egregious officiating out there. TSU is just losing their cool at odd times.

Found just enough d in the second half led by Vashil. Great game from Alec. Now we get a big school at home. Finally.

I've been fasting from the board a bit after the HL Tourney...even tonight there's a lot of gloom and doom.  Think of this though, this is the biggest post-season win for Valparaiso University since the sweet 16 run in 1998.  It's been a looong time since Valpo has won in a major post-season tourney and for this team to find the passion to win against a team that was scrappy and having a good game is big.  Do you think we can get up for Florida State?  I do.
