So... the Ohio Road Trip... Part 2, without a plane...

Someone posted earlier "you can't win the HL without winning in Ohio"...

So, I had to look, over the past 5 years we have been:

0 - 1 (so far)
1 - 2
2 - 1
1 - 2
1 - 2
2 - 1
total of 7-9 in Ohio HL games...(we are 23-26 overall in HL Road Games)

Back to just CSU... This is Game #25 of the season...

In Game #25 for the past 20 years, we are:
14-6 overall
9-2 at home
5-4 on the road  (One of the L's is to Duke)
We have played CSU twice in game #25... and split with them.  We won at Wolstein and they won at the ARC.

They had a weird game with YST last night...here's their write up...

Even though CSU is improving, I believe we take this one, though we won't shoot lights out like last night.

Can we get to 9-9 in Ohio for HL play?  One step at a time.

Ryan loves the shooting backgrounds (apparently) as he and the guys shot the lights out, was it last year? CSU was pushing to battle for the title and it was a "showdown" game.  We took them apart.

I like the 13 number but could be more.  They are playing much better than they did at Valpo but so are we.  ;)

The first time I saw it was at the ARC, probably 9 or 10 years ago. One of the students had a sign that said 'Chicago is not a state.'  Somewhere in that general timeframe, one of the students paraded a sign behind the Oakland bench that said '0-13.'  He made sure that everyone in the place saw it, including Kampe and the Oakland team.  That got a lot of raucous cheers from the student section, as well.  Good times.

I think that Oakland sign was during my time at Valpo.  I seem to remember someone doing that, back when we still won every game against them

I agree. Having grown up on the east side (Lyndhurst), I understand the view based on ancient history (river on fire etc) and no doubt Cleveland has had many of the issues facing any big city (the murder rate is WAY below Chicago!) The city has done much to turn the corner and I wish I could be back to see the game!

We will be there can't wait to watch the team live  :)

It's great to have you in the states, Koala.  I hope that you'll have the opportunity to see the team at its best.  It seems that Rowdy performs well when you're in the stands.

Pretty lame really.  The whole "river on fire" thing happened in 1969.  Over the last 50 years or so I think you could come up with some lame stuff about any major city.  How about Chicago? War protests, City burned down, how many murders? How about all the famous people from Cleveland? Halle Barry, Drew Carey, Arsenio Hall, Bob Hope, Paul Newman, Eliot Ness, John D. Rockefeller, blah, blah, blah.

Give poor old Cleveland a rest (and yes, I grew up in the east burbs!  ;D)

Cleveland may get the last laugh on a lot of you.    The Cleveland Clinic is an absolute juggernaut worldwide in healthcare.   The economy is a lot more diverse than before and Case Western Reserve University is very strong.   Not well known outside academia but solid!

My cousin graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic (in Los Angeles) after she did her undergraduate at Depauw.  Not sure if this place was named after someone with that name, or if it is originally from Cleveland, but I am told it is a solid program for chiropractors.  Just 3-4 years after she graduated, she already owns her business with 10 other chiropractors on staff in LA, and they are utilized by the US women's soccer team often, among other top athletes...
