Definitely a good way for me to view 1-3 games this year!

Baseball again proves that it is one of our only programs that can consistently win games against the top 25! We lose 2 games at Dallas Baptist (#25), when leading into the 7th inning in both games, but come out on top 6-1 in game 3! I look forward to seeing us in-person tomorrow for game 4!
Finally playing a game (0r 2) in Wisconsin... 7-3 victory in the first game of the double-header... up 5-0, still batting in T5 with 2-on and 2-out.... We are 5-2 in the HL !
Ended up losing 6-5 in the second game. Now are 9-15 (5-3). Not too bad as our guys seem to be hitting their stride.
Baseball finishes the regular season at 27-26 (17-12) and in third place. We definitely have a chance at securing another NCAA bid, and I think that we will do so with our pitching!
Valpo 2-0 going into the top of the 4th.
Valpo 2-1 with Valpo at bat in the bottom of the 4th.
NKU 4-2 heading into the bottom of the 5th :(

Valpo up 10-7, bottom of 8

Great finish, Valpo wins 10-7, on to Milwaukee tomorrow.
Glad that we got past the single elimination portion. We are setup well for the double elimination final 4!
Had to leave the house when we were down and things didn't look good. Glad to see we rallied and got the W.
Hey, the BB team split today and lives to play tomorrow. Seems like no one is paying attention.
Exciting win over Milwaukee. Am I seeing things wrong, or they playing the HLT on a turf infield? Awful.
Another title game for the baseball team! We need to win 2 against Wright State, which is possible for us!

Yep. Field Turf installed in 2012.
Tough 7-2 loss, but a good season to finish 30-28! Any time we get a winning record in baseball or softball, it is quite an accomplishment, since we have to play so many away games to start the season. Pretty cool that we have been in the championship game 4 out of the last 6 seasons, coming away 2-2 in those games. Softball has been in the championship game 4 out of the last 5 seasons, coming away 3-1. Something to build on for both programs!
So TX, where do we stand going into 2016-17? Are we building or rebuilding?
This is Brandon's take.

Definitely a rebuild. We lose our two best starting pitchers and a few key relievers, as well as several key hitters. We will need the young guys to step up next year, in order to avoid a really bad season.
From a recruiting standpoint do we have any difference makers coming in? Or will that not be known until the Fall?
It sounded like we have some really great recruits coming in, but they will need to come up to speed quickly. Schmack has continued the smart recruiting philosophy that Woodson introduced at Valpo, in getting solid Juco kids from CA and in the Midwest, in order to supplement the incoming FR. We definitely get highly rated recruits now, but you tend to see teams laden with Juniors and Seniors be more successful than underclassmen.
What a cool honor for Nolan!

This just demonstrates that we truly have student-athletes, which should appeal to many parents/potential students who are not in the primary money-making sports. Our educational reputation has us built to be a strong athletic program in the majority of our teams, since those sports tend to get people who are more focused on an office career post-college, rather than professional sports.
Congrats to Dalton on getting selected in the 30th round! Gaedele got up to AA, so hopefully one of our remaining guys can top what he did. I assume that Kyle has retired, since he isn't playing with anyone this season.
