So the Horizon League schedule has started and we were swept by YSU. We now are 3-20 on the year and 0-3 in the conference. This team appears to have experience as I believe we only have one freshman but eight juniors and seniors on the team. Second year for the head coach. It could be a long season at this rate and a very big fall from the days a few years ago where we won games in the ncaa tournament. :'(
It's all due to pitching. Taylor has been better over the last few games, but she isn't the same as her FR year. I harp on that aspect, but our pitchers are giving up hits all over the place.
I have a feeling the rebuilding curve is gonna be a bit longer than we'd like for this team. As I understand it the past coach left a pretty difficult situation for our new coach to deal with that makes me think being so upperclassmen heavy may actually be a detriment.
The previous coach definitely did something that he shouldn't have...
Two solid wins at home against Bowling Green today. Well-pitched as we win 4-3 and 6-0. Hopefully a sign that we are righting the ship!
Swept two more from NKU, with both being shutouts!! It looks like our pitching has decided to show up, which is a very good sign. We are now 7-20 (2-3).
