I am in Finland on a business trip and our teams are having a wonderful dinner in Tampere. The leader talks about basketball and his daughter playing in a local league. So after a good basketball discussion, yours truly brings up that Antti Nikkila, a Tampere native and Valpo center, played at my undergrad alma mater. He mentions that his daughter and Antti's daughter play on the same league team and he sees him often. Small world!
to quote M*A*S*H... Give'em Hell, Sinki.
Antti is a fantastic guy. He was my lab partner in a Biology class, and was pretty sharp. Even though he wasn't a stud on the court, he is one of my all-time favorites from Valpo.
My Finnish coworker mentioned that Antti was a very nice guy. He played in the Finnish basketball league for quite a while. Regarding education, Finland generally places more emphasis on teaching and studies compared to the US.
