Only 1 week away. I saw a crowdfunding opportunity already posted. I always enjoy this day. Proud to be Valpo!
Hope you were a part of this huge day!
Over $1,000,000 raised on Day of Giving...hats off to everyone involved at the campus and those of us who chipped in our part of that million!

Has there been a final number posted? I haven't seen the announcement.
No final number I've seen. I got an email saying over $1million was raised.
New record Day of Giving amount. $1,008,057!! That is a bout $150,000 more than the previous record! Congrats and thanks to all who gave!

You are welcome. I sucked up my political pride for the moment, and did my usual contribution with company match. I haven't seen an AOC-like shift as of yet, but will be keeping watch ;)
So people spontaneously gave gifts that totaled $1m because it was the Day of Giving. Wow.
I received an e-mail on Thursday with an update on what the five colleges have been doing.
The message also said that the Forever Valpo campaign has reached $268 million.

That's quite a jump from 261 Million currently posted. It appeared that the campaign had slowed with the last published increase being less than $1 million but the growth continues. That is very impressive for a relatively small alumni group.
Wouldn't it be great if a large chunk of the pledged amount was directed toward ARC renovation? Then along with a successful season next season go for additional funds and complete the ARC project in a fitting way(whatever that may be).
Here is a neat infographic that they posted. Did get some athletic money brought in!

Maybe what someone needs to do is contact billionaire Stan Kroenke and persuade him to fund a new athletics complex. Kroenke is owner of multiple sports teams (football, soccer, basketball, hockey, and more). He grew up in a tiny Missouri town. I am not aware of any prior connection with Valpo, but his background is German Lutheran.
Wasn't there either a classroom building or dorm with that same name? Perhaps some "old money". I could see the name in lights: "The Kroenke Athletics and Recreation Center."
There is a Kroencke Hall. Close but slightly different spelling.
Thanks for answering that for me. Sooooo....let's change the name a little bit but still make the improvements with his gift. :)
Kroenke is owner of the LA Rams. He built a new 80,000 seat stadium for them (and the Chargers) at a cost of five to six billion dollars.
A new ARC would cost a fraction of that amount.
I have always wondered about if any of the Steel Mills in the area could be convinced to cough up money with some naming rights involved.
