Great PR for team, let's hope Niesner gets one too
This is a rookie mini-camp tryout invite. 3 days working with drafted rookies, undrafted free agents and tryout players. Typically one or two of the tryout guys will get signed as an undrafted free agent. While I wish Robert the best, he's fighting some long odds here.
Seriously, was he even one of the best rb's in FCS?

Yes he was. Ranked 10th in rushing yards while missing at least one half against Butler and other injuries.
Congrats to him!
I think every one is aware of the long odds of making an NFL roster, but if you can't get a foot in the door, the odds are even worse. I hope he makes the most of the opportunity regardless of the outcome.

True but a tryout invite doesn't generate any much publicity for the Valpo program which was mentioned. Should he get a camp invite that is a different story.
Here's to beating the odds and getting a training camp invite.
I did note from Paul Oren's Victory Bell piece that at the Charlotte Pro Day, he ran only a 4.70 in the 40, so hopefully that was just a bad day.
Doesn't appear the Eagles signed any of the tryout guys.
Washington's best bet to play professionally will be in either the XFL, USFL, or maybe the Canadian Football League.
