Title: New Infield at the EGB
Post by: jetz on August 28, 2012, 02:35:15 PM
The baseball infield at Valpo's Emory G. Bauer field got a shave and a wig.  The field last year was a hazard to infielders, as several bad hops nearly got em in the face several times.  We got the luckier end of it, as a couple of times bad hops on balls hit by Valpo batters led to key base hits.  In any event, it was decided to laser grade the infield this fall, and that has been completed, for a measly $30K.  New sod was laid and dirt with topdressing put down.  The link below should take you to a pic that was posted on Facebook.  The boys are able to play on it very soon--like in a day or two!  Good deal!

Haha, the field at EGB has ALWAYS been a hazard to IFs, and to our ERAs  ;).  I was following the pictures on FB as well, and it looks good!
