Rowdy and KVW preseason all-conference.

Here's the VU Athletics link:

Valpo also has been ranked number 7 among the Top 15 Mid-Major Power Rankings by NBC Sports:

Hopefully our guys go out and play like underdogs.  It can be very difficult playing as the favorite, which has been a few years for us

The highlight sequence on Detroit's Doug Anderson dunking is scary.

I'm surprised the one Anderson threw down at Valpo was not included. He came flying down the lane and tomahawked a dunk. I can't remember where he started from but it was near the free throw line I believe.

But he wasn't selected for preseason All-HL  - McCallum and Minnerath got it.

That's because he can dunk but doesn't do a lot of other things all that well.  For the three games we played against them last year he went for 12 points and 7 boards in 36 minutes, 0 points and 4 boards in 9 minutes, and in the championship game he scored 4 with 0 boards in 16 minutes.  With Lowe and the other big gone I expect him to play a regular role.  Minnerath is a very solid guy.

Oh, if you liked Doug Anderson's dunks watch Erik Buggs do one of my favorites.  Remember he is maybe 5'10"!!

It happens at 3:43 against North Carolina:

To be honest they really have Anderson to get the dunks and draw the fans. He also has a few games where he scores around 10 points and can win the game for Detroit. That's more than a lot of student athletes do for their schools.

Lowe and that other Big Guy??? Eli Holman was not just an "other big guy."  He was a force on BOTH ends of the floor.  If anything, it should be Holman and the other big guy.

i was at this game. actually, i'm probably just out of camera shot - i was in the front row of movable uncomfy seats, behind the hansborough family go figure. unfortunately, it seemed to be the unc half of the building.

Lowe and Holman being gone will be a big loss for Detroit when playing against us.  We couldn't do nearly as much as we wanted to with those two in the lane
