Few thoughts:
The refs were horrendous.
We were lucky they couldn't hit free throws.
It's Carter time.

Quote from: a3uge on December 08, 2013, 12:01:09 PMSLU fans seem to have a weird superiority complex... This was more evident when the new Big East was being formed and SLU was left behind in the A10. Really they're still just a strong mid major program... As much as they want to be, they're not Marquette or Georgetown. And the SLU fan saying "if we play better we win by 10 against Valpo" must not understand the concept of a sporting event.
I was in Chaifetz Arena last year when SLU had already sliced and diced VCU to a statistically certain win and the hometown fans were still screaming bloody murder over a "bad" call by the ref.  I looked at the guy next to me and said, "You do know that game is over, right?" but unfortunately he wasn't looking at me and he couldn't hear me. The arena certainly begets feelings of superiority.  Makes the ARC look like a kindergarten gymnasium.

That's hilarious as I was walking out of the arena at the same time as the refs a SLU fan yelled thanks for giving us one call the whole second half.  He had to be reminded that his team won the game.
I'm sure its only a portion of their fans, but some SLU people were clearly intoxicated as they walked into the arena and sounded as if they have not attended a basketball game before.

This team is already a ton of fun to watch already and that will only increase once KC comes back.

Quote from: valpotx on January 03, 2013, 11:31:12 AMIf Bob Brooks is still like he was when he worked with me/our baseball team, it is not his problem.  He works your a$$ off in all ways, but again, this was 9 years ago when I last played.  I was in the best shape of my life because of him, and still use a lot of what he had us do to keep in shape now.

Great post Valposter and I agree with all of it.  I know it seems the athletic department is trying to do more of it, but I wish more videos would be posted on the athletics website such as basketball pressers and general highlights from all sports.
I am from the school that you can't sucessfully be all things to all people, so I firmly believe the investment in resources (facilities and budgets) should be made in the Valpo sports programs that are having success or reasonably positioned for success (basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer).  Maybe tennis now?
Completely agree with this and yes tennis now!!!!!! Also like the new logo and uniforms that Nike is providing and evolving....

Wow well sounds like the defending Horizon League coach of the year should just quit.
I'm disappointed as everyone else about last night's game and the inconsistency so far, but these type of games seem to be the norm throughout the Horizon League this year and I expect plenty of upsets.  Just gotta take it game by game.
Not giving up at all on this team for the #1 seed and host of the tourney. Feel like Ryan will pull this team together......call me a blind optimist or whatever but these guys have proven they can do it.
GO VALPO BEAT CSU

It will be an interesting matchup between Canaan and Buggs on defense for sure.....
Kenney, Boggs or Dority wil need a big game to help out Rowdy to keep it close.  Should be a fun game.

Anyone understand the Boggs intentional either?
So does Bryce make switches in the starting lineup?

Letting the FT shooter get that rebound when there is no other OU player down there is a freshman mistake

Can not believe that just happened  >:(
20 turnovers is not gonna cut it against anyone. Conference play can't come soon enough granted we get our act together....
