What an incredible run we had. This program has made a giant step going forward in the past 5 days. I believe in Matt Lottich. He has shown the potential to be an elite coach. If we retain our core players JFL, krickee, clay, sackey, and McMillan I believe we should be contenders for league champions. Sackey could be a beast if he improves his shooting. If we could get a talented post player...we will be at the top of this league. Lottich turned a huge corner this weekend.

Lets just stop talking about this...  Lottich will be back next year and the year after at minimum.   Not sure he gets a 4 year contract or not but it will be at least 2 years, so just freaking stop talking about it until 2022.   

2020 team --  Finishing with their best win total in an improved MVC.  Improving as season goes on and every returner but Sackey got better and Sackey played REALLY well during the summer trip so not sure what is going on with him. 

2019 team --  Struggled out of the gate but started MVC play hot before injuries COMPLETELY derailed the season.   There were literally games where 4 of our top 6 players were out.   That as a 11-12 win MVC team despite having personalities on the team who didn't get along.

2018 team --  1st year in Valley with increased competition and no Peters.  Give the guy a freaking break.   Hell... Tevonn got mono that year as I recall and was never the same.    happens.  Was a rough year and would have been for any coach in the nation.   I still remember how WELL WE PLAYED THE LAST 8 games of the year.   We were super competitive and were playing our best basketball down the stretch, we just were not ready yet. 

That is enough for a 4 year extension in my opinion.  But I am ok with a 2 year if that's what the people want.     Either way, he is here for a while so settle down and enjoy the fact the team is improving.

What concerns me about lottich is player retention. History tells us we're going to lose players this off season. Either players looking for more prestigious school or just an opportunity to play. Marten Linssen comes to mind and he  had potential. I would hate to lose Villien or Lorange.

Outside of JFL and Clay, this team doesnt have anyone that's worth getting excited about. That's my fear. If JFL transfers Valpo will be trash next year. That's a legit concern.

It's a legitimate concern.  I hope that alone is not other fans' reason to sack Lottich.

P.S.  Why are we ignoring how bad Daniel Sackey is playing?  I've heard of sophomore slumps but wowza!

Is it conceivable that a large part of our first half slumps begin with no floor General?  I mean that certainly isn't all of it, but I'm sure some are wishing Micah was still around to pickup the slack.

Had Bryce Drews last team at Valpo been on the MVC, I bet they would have cracked the top 25. I know people hate looking back, but that was a fun time to be a fan. Bryce was such a icon in the community. I miss him
