arguably the most influential man in the world of technology in at least my lifetime, and quite possibly longer. he had some of everything: business savvy, charisma, public speaking talent, common sense, an ability to relate with consumers, and many more traits.

from the cnn article:
Quote"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do," he told the Stanford grads in 2005.

"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on."

A great tribute from Gizmodo:  http://gizmodo.com/5838847/steve-jobs-is-dead

great indeed. their site was actually down for a while after the announcement due to excessive traffic as well.

One of the pirates of Silicon Valley -- in every sense of the word -- and absolutely indispensable to the computer revolution.  "Good artists copy, great artists steal," I think he said as he was about to do just that, and if it weren't for him and Bill Gates and others, the PCs you and I use to do so many things would be nowhere near as advanced as they are, if we even had them at all.  When idiots with no vision are in charge of the store, somebody needs to break in and steal them blind, as dirty as that is, in order to unleash the potential being held hostage.

Part of the "dirty", ironically enough, is when one pirate steals from another ;)
