Minor quibble here but their has been no formal announcement as to who the starting QB will be. There are people on this board who've had personnel information currently and in the past who keep it to themselves since the coaches appear to want to keep it to themselves. So I'm not sure posting that information because you are aware of it through a non public source and because you're butt hurt about it seems to be something we would want to do. However that is what happens when the concern is more for one specific player over the team.

Fun tidbit looked at our defense and offense yards per game since those are the available stats.

2014: 406.4-Cecchini
2017: 419.1-Cecchini
2016- 429.6-Cecchini

2013: 506.5-Carlson
2010: 507-Carlson

2012: 541.5- Carlson

Offense
2010: 218.8-Carlson
2009: 226.9-Adams
2019: 237-Fox
2015: 270.9-Cecchini
2008: 279-Adams
2016: 300.3-Cecchini
2011: 304.3- Carlson
2018: 332.6-Cecchini

Lets shoot for over 280 yds/game on offense and keep D where its at. Should lead to a competitive PFL stretch

Based on the last post, I want to say something about consistency but JD24 will give me grief.

I won't call this bogus, but it's close.  Comparing the first three games against a whole season is a little premature don't you think?  In 2015, for example, not counting the College of Faith joke, during the first three real games, we were out scored 146 to 19 while the whole season shows a -27.3.  Let's see how this plays out.
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

Well they're were given a new coach who was there because community service.

They went on to win the Little league hockey tournament for Minnesota, then the USA , then high school.

Charlie Conway led the team in points all three seasons and was a mainstay. Transfer Adam Banks went on to play semi pro.

Gordon Bombay left the team and stayed with team USA. It was a true underdog story.

I think the previous answer may have been a bit tongue in cheek  ;D
It appears Coach Sherwyn Thomas, a con man of the highest degree and one who managed to put one over on not only one member of the PFL but two as Davidson also "played" the College of Faith, took his act to the HS ranks for a season or two and put together a HS "program" under the auspices of the NCSAA which is the member affiliate for a lot of Christian based schools nationwide. That apparently worked out just as well as his foray into the college ranks as the "school" is no longer open.

valpofb16

Yes con artist did as following

Made a fake online college: Collecting tuition money
Made a football team: Collected game money (bought team minimalistic gear and uniforms I played in that game)

Pocketed good chunk of money. NCAA said you're done. Discredited all of their games and they have not been heard from since.

JD24

Seewald gets the start with everyone rooting for him.

Well......almost everyone   ;)

JD24

Same issue going right through the right DE as has happened the last couple of games. Probably need more stout DE's in this defense over giving up 60-80 lbs. This along with no one to fill LBer or Safety.

....and let's tackle a bit better. TD catch one was missed at about the 2 yard gain mark and the guy ends up in the endzone.

JD24

Not sure running 2 TE sets helps the team with this personnel in the run game. Particularly if the play is not to the side Kluck is lined up.

JD24

No matter who the QB is, the receivers need to start making some plays. I can't recall a tough catch made other than maybe one by Larose in the 2nd game.

valpofb16

First half check in

Offense: Jimmy 3/12 , 1 int but it was deep, put TD pass on money, Cartales is working his rear off, Receivers leave much to be desired, Oline is working just think there front is more athletic

Defense: Turner keeps getting stuck on #3 where there big plays are going. They are much more athletic on the perimeter. We are stopping the run.

251-51 yd differential isn't sustainable unless D gets another 3 turnovers

We are outsized on both OL and DL
Jimmy not forcing passes where there is nothing open (a good thing)
Echo that the receivers need to find ways to get separation sooner

Our safeties are playing well (Booker with 2 INTs)
Pass rush is a fraction of a second slow so the UC QB is able to get his passes off.
Some wide open UC receivers underneath and the QB is finding them.
UC has some good speed.

JD24

It's apparent that Charleston's skill players are a higher grade than Valpo's nearly to a man. There's probably no WR for Valpo on Charleston's travel team and I think only Cartales is in the backfield.

Jarnigan has been eaten up by the big DT for Charleston.

Part of the no space for receivers is the offensive scheme. I can't say I'm happy with the OC at this point.

NT can't be stopped 1 on 1.  Need to help out on him.  But don't see that happening.

JD24

Welp.

The issue isn't who the QB is. No matter who they have back there, he's not going to succeed with the pass protection and the what appears to be limited ability of the WRs and/or the OC to scheme them open. One thing Cecchini could do was get WRs open. Even in the years the offense was down, there'd be receivers open but the QB at the time wasn't particularly accurate.

dcannon12

Your man was in Seewald no win. Just a note I'm Not related to Duncan just think he's a better talent all around. I do have a nephew on the team so I go to some games. I was not at homecoming but saw stats. That's all I'm saying. Not worth anymore comments.
