Tonight Wake Forest lost to BC to fall 14-14 on the season. Old friend Cooper Schwieger had 0 points and 1 rebound in 10 minutes of play.
On the season he’s averaging 5.2 pts/game and playing 20 minutes.
He’s making a boatload of money this year. And you can’t fault him for that. But I wonder if this year has stunted his future potential earnings as a professional. Would he have been better off, in the long run, staying at Valpo for a 3rd year?
Very good question. Unfortunately kids and their agents are focused on the here and now. Same for All. Nice season but are we worse off with Rockim et all? I doubt it.

Further to his stats, he's had one rebound in each of the last 4 games and his playing time has shrunk. He was never a mix it up guy underneath and depended on his length to both play defense and rebound. In the ACC that's unlikely to work much.
Carson Schwieger of Queens is currently playing Central Arkansas for the ASUN title
Cooper played really well for Wake last night. I think he had 10 pts but he was in the middle of everything on the court while he was in there. Defensively a force. I Wake gets Clemson tonight at 8:30 Central for anyone interested.
Just a final look at how Valpo’s past transfers performed over the season.

A quick looks tells me Carson and Devon proved to be the most valuable to their new teams while the busts included Isaiah Stafford and Tyler. Not sure other than Cooper and All that any would have made us better.
Carson with his 41% 3 point average might situationally have brought us significant value. One of my questions with him was his defense and even making 3 pointers will not bring you back into a game when the team can't make the defensive stops.
