Butt..ler has piled up a ton of points against what USC would call ham and eggers and got killed out in Montana. Meanwhile back in reality, VU warmed up against a poor NAIA squad, but then stood up to to 2 MVFC in respectable (for us) losses.

Not passing judgement on Lawrence Tech but this was St Francis (Joliet, IL) as opposed to St Francis of Fort Wayne, a big difference. Though they did hold Illinois State to 76. St. Mary's of the Woods is pretty new. This week they get Judson fresh off a 96-0 loss at Grand Valley.
Keefe just gifted Butler an early interception. Thankfully the defense held them to 3.

These refs were perhaps the worst collection of stripe shirts I ever seen. Not blaming them for the loss but they were just awful. Defense let us down today.

I was at the game yesterday, and oh my it seemed like Valpo might pull out a win. Had that last pass connected, it could’ve changed the trajectory of the season. But even putting aside bad penalty calls, there was no semblance of a downfield passing game, and VU couldn’t cover the guy who reeled in 3 TD catches.
Took some flack on initial Rowan post and thought it was a bit harsh/targeted. 2-19 and 5.3 YPA just wont get it done. Even if that throw hits there’s a ceiling there.
I do appreciate Rowan has cut down on the turnovers to keep games relatively competitive. The team is better. Two hands to face calls on a defense in one quarter is for sure a first.
We should get Morehead State and Presbyterian.

I’m encouraged by Waddles staff. There’s improvement from year 1-2 all you can ask. 4 wins year two (could get Stetson as well). Gets him to where Fox and Cecchini were in year two. Which both then endured a winning season.
Offense scored 28. Theoretically good enough to win. But things such as having ball 14-3 with sub 4 minutes left in half, that has to be a drive to end half 14-3 not 14-10. And having the ball with a chance to take lead and you hit one yard check down on 3rd & 9.
I also think Butler is good. They played with Montana St for a half and hammered D3 power house Franklin. Brighter days ahead
