It’s finally game day at Mackey.
Valpo enters at 1-0, Purdue at 0-1, and KenPom gives the Beacons just a 6% chance. Nobody is pretending this will be easy, but early November against a younger Purdue roster makes this a fascinating opportunity to see exactly where this Valpo team stands.
What has to happen for the Beacons to hang around and make Purdue sweat?
My full Valpo-Purdue preview: Game Preview: Beacons Visit Mackey Seeking First Win Over Purdue Since 1965
Here is a preview done by Purdue supporters. A lot of talk on Valpo and some of our guys.
Looks like I’ll get the game here in Texas on Hulu.
Purdue by 34. Going to be a long night.
just pulling into campus...brought 2 of my alumni buddies who also live in Indy...love this early start too! Go Crusaders!
Purdue 76
Valpo 66
My hope is that we stay close, but Purdue is too tough in the final five minutes. We need a good game on the boards and shooting the 3’s.
Looks like Kobe Walker is out for tonight’s game
Tuned in because the website said the game started 6 minutes ago, but it looks like I need to sit through 30 minutes of Purdue propaganda first. 🙃
Chaney is gonna get huge money by a p6 school if he chooses to transfer. Always plays well in large environments
He is such a valuable leader/ stabilizing force! He is 100% of the reason we're still in this, but not just his point contribution.
HOLY COW @#$&#@!!, VALPO wins 83-80 in 2OT. ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
THEY NEVER QUIT. What an achievement.
I’m in a state of disbelief!!!!!!!!!! Take notice MVC!!! Best win in program history since…… the shot
I was at the EXH game against ONU and someone in front of me said Valpo "didnt look good" and "was going to lose by 70 to Purdue".
Anyway I heard crow is really good this time of year!
The culture of this team is truly Valpo. Just so proud.
Looks like VU won’t be on the Boilermakers schedule for the next 50 years
