Just amazing. What a win. So many players stepped up in so many ways. RAKIM CHANEY WHAT A SHOT AND GAME. Justus McNair with ANOTHER GAME WINNING 3. Bruno with a HUGE 3. How about Hudson scroggins?!? Nails 2 clutch free throws. Not sure if it was cramping or what but pushing through and battling on the glass and that great 3. Sader servilus guarded someone A FOOT TALLER THAN HIM. Hopoi guarded tough all night. So proud of my beacons!!
A spectacular win for the "CRUSADERS"...a great tribute to Coach Powell and a great bunch of guys who never quit. Some teams would have turned it in after that awful first 12 minutes or so and then being down by 12 at half, but not this bunch. HAIL TO THE BROWN AND GOLD!
Our defense was good all night. Very few defensive mistakes were made. Our newcomers played unspectacularly but solid, while our returning veterans shined.
If a few more people can hit some 3s this could be a pretty good team.
Great win! Most of the second half and the OT’s I couldn’t sit down. Also, I got a text from a former employee that is a huge IU fan. He said that Valpo beating Purdue was better than a IU win over Purdue! GO VALPO!
After a few of the projections on this board I would think crow may be served at several homes in the near future.
World class team effort.
Is it true that Purdue paid us $90K for this game?
The USAToday score crawler shows that every mid major, EXCEPT Valpo, got crushed tonight by power schools. The MVC might not react but the media will latch onto this win. .
EDIT: I Take back the MVC react comment. It registered on MVCFans. Maybe some respect is building.
What a fun game to watch as a Valpo fan. It was so much fun that it brought me back here after at least 6 months away. Grit, clutch shots, next man up, 2 buzzer beaters, it had it all. Great job Valpo!
FOr once Valpo isnt on the negative side of the media craze! Everybody and their mother is talking about this game
Since the net rankings were introduced, Purdue has never had a net ranking lower than 39. This undoubtably will be a quad 1 win for Valpo.
I knew Justus was gonna bury that shot- even after a few bad misses... Just knew it. This could be a special year
Absolutely thrilling. A win I have been waiting for literally my entire life. Will truly keep me happy for a few days.
I have to point out that their next game is a road game against a very good mid major that ALSO just beat a power 5 team on the road. Cant let the emotions of this game carry over.
Scroggins played a key role down the stretch, as well. Two clutch FTs, and if you watch the Chaney missed FT, his battle down low is why Rakim ended up with the ball
Simply one of the best games I have ever seen. Clutch plays, role guys making big plays, complete team effort. Truly a joy to watch.
Not sure if others noticed, but President Konkol was sitting right behind the bench. He does so many little things to support Valpo’s brand in this turnaround.
