i have no idea what the benefits are from this. Many of Valpo's conference opponents are much further than most non-conference opponents. If you can't play non-conference, how is it safe enough to play conference games?

Fortunately, I think that all other sports can benefit if the MVC does this - since most travel could be done via bus.

With the Patriot, the Ivy, and the CAA moving football to the Spring (if they play at all), many PFL teams had their non-conference schedules more or less cancelled anyway. Might just be a way to create a consistent schedule for teams in conference. Optimistically, the later start provides a few more weeks to lower the infection rate. Also might allow players to get to their campus and self-quarantine before the start of Fall Camp.
