The Fall 2026 enrollment numbers are available.
The total undergrad enrollment is 1961 (down from 2071 in 2025), and the University total is 2284 (down from 2451 in 2025).
The good news is that on the undergraduate front new first time students is 530 (up from 498 in 2025), and total new (including transfer students) is 670, up from 645 in 2025.
What has happened is that in the last 9 years or so, new first time and transfer students has gone down quite a bit: In 2016 new first time students was 862 and total new was 1092. Both of these numbers basically declined every year from 2017-2025 though sometimes they were flat one year to the next. This is at least one reason that the total enrollment is down in 2026 because the incoming classes in 2023, 2024 and 2025 were smaller and declining every year; as far as I can tell, this is the first meaningful increase in new undergrad students in a decade.

At the convocation yesterday, Eric Johnson said the class was the largest in 10 years. That included transfers and foreign students. I think there are only 20 or so foreign students so I guess the freshman class must be a little bit larger.
So it seems what Johnson said is wildly inaccurate since the numbers are out. Not sure why he would have said that. Happy about the increase though, small wins
@804union If he was speaking of the incoming freshman class, it could very well be the largest year-on-year increase in ten years, yet clearly not the largest class during that time of decline.
Pretty sure we saw this clarification of the statistic.
The critical term seems to be "first time students." Maybe someone knows how that aggregates from the sub-groups of them; transfers plus freshmen, FTEs, part-time, special programs like HSI etc. Or maybe those countw were published somewhere.
Sadly, the number that now jumps off the page is the fall 2026 drop below 2,000 undergraduates.
