Freshman

It is stories like this that should make us proud to be a graduate or affiliate in some way to Valpo.  This story shows what kind of top notch players and coaches our University possesses.

Transfer haul looks to be light compared to recent years. Load of freshman. Will be young depth wise. 15 starters return from Butler game.

Rebuild is on

Coaches poll 11/11 with only one team voting Valpo 10/11. Hope there a some wrong people out there. Think our FR OL class is good. Ehrlich is a FR , Rumoro is a SO. Hayes SO.

Feltrinelli and Markley are both SOs with a lot of experience now.

3 wins heavy retention and some young bright spots id consider the season a win

Well, finally did it; made an account on the new platform. Can't explain why I never did; just observed as a non-member. Great to be back.

This team is bringing so many people back defensively that they can't be worse, there has to be some improvement and they now have starting experience 2-deep at some positions (when was the last time the entire back 7 came back). Yes, the D-Line will be a big question but with the right schemes, that can be minimized. Offensively, feel like the QB and WR situation is solid enough with continuity of the staff, things will be improved. The O-Line seems to be something the team hasn't been able to figure out for idk 15+years.

Aside from a one WR and DL there were no other real impact portal losses and only a few others graduated. Excited for Waddle year two, optimistic the team will be much more competitive.

804 Union welcome back. Some excellent points are made here. The back 7 experienced. DL is definitely the question.

QB returns , WR 2-3 Return, TE, 3/5 OL.

On paper that looks great. Have to wait and see what we’ve backfilled the talent with. Weeks 1-7 were really really bad. Things improved towards the end.

I’m hoping for 3 wins, heavy retention, and some Waddle recruits to POP (outside of Rumoro and Markley we really haven’t seen one yet). With the new 5/5 rule we should see some kids hitting the field, unless we aren’t recruiting at a PFL level.

All comes down to two things 1) Lawrence Tech is a must win, stomped by IWU by 53 points last season, level of Trinity International which Cecchini teams handled. 2) Keefe- how does he play and how long is the leash, if he throws multiple picks in game 1 does the staff sacrifice another season for continuity?

All interesting. Very wait and see. I believe in Waddle. Let’s see how it goes
