August 20 and our non-con schedule is still largely to be determined. I hope this is a good thing with pleasant surprises instead of the nobody will play us scenario. I would love to see some good opponents but I am counting on nothing.
@justducky suspecting it is us beginning to slide into the less ideal opponent category. Talked to a guy on staff a couple weeks ago (albeit someone who does not do the scheduling) and he said they still had at least 4 openings.
It is really hard to get games scheduled when you are projected to NOT be a bottom feeder program
Valpo needs to hit the west coast and face USC, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount in one trip!

From my understanding Coach Gordon is primarily in charge of the scheduling this season, the last schedule update I had heard they were working on buttoning up the last few games. I would expect it to be out soon; last season they released it the first week of September if I remember correctly.

The nobody will play us scenario is an issue! We have had several teams commit to playing us and then back out when it came to locking in the game (contract). Most other high and mid majors simply said "no" upon our initial ask. Some of that has to do with the pay Valpo might want to show up and certainly some of the reason is that we are not the bottom feeder we were even a few years ago. We did a have a beatable high major team that was expected to be on our road schedule and they bailed when it came time to signing the contract for the game :)! Let's just say that we were not willing to stoop to their terms. The schedule should be solid, certainly better than previous years but more filled with decent mid major teams in neutral games or home and homes.
